The Supreme Court means everything to the Democrats. It is their main weapon for advancing their Leftist agenda, which they have had a lot of trouble advancing through the ballot box.
So there's nothing far fetched about imagining that there are committed Leftists who have been assigned the task of digging into every aspect of the lives of anyone who could potentially become a Conservative Supreme Court nominee, appointed by a Republican POTUS, years before these judges could be tapped for a nomination.
If such an opposition researcher was looking into Brett Kavanaugh's past, they would surely think that they struck gold when discovering that he had a high school buddy, who not only wrote a novel featuring a character with a name very similar to Kavanaugh's, who was portrayed as a heavy drinker, but who also had a history of substance abuse himself.
Right away, a light bulb would go off in the opposition researcher's head...."if we could find a woman from Kavanaugh and Judge's high school social circle who can make an accusation against BOTH of them involving sexual abuse and drunkenness, then we're in business"
Isn't it convenient that Kavanaugh's accuser didn't claim that Kavanaugh attacked her by himself, or with another male who was at the party, but specifically, with Judge? And isn't it convenient that the accuser fingered Kavanaugh as the main culprit, and Judge as the accomplice?
During the Senate hearings, the Democrats were pounding their fists on the table demanding that Kavanaugh agree to having Judge testify under oath. Funny, how they weren't clamoring for PJ Smyth or Leland Keiser to testify under oath. If they did, and they repeated their claim that they have no recollection of this party, the Democrats could simply claim that these two were downstairs, away from the supposed assault, and maybe they were too drunk to remember this particular party.
But Judge was supposedly in the room with Kavanaugh, and participated in the attack. You can bet that opposition researchers dug very deep into Judge's past, and found something incriminating that they could use to discredit him as a liar. You can also bet that the Democrats were chomping at the bit to get Judge on the witness stand at the hearings, so they could grill him in front of a national audience. But the Republicans would not allow any other testimonies at the hearing.
So they did the next best thing. They harangued Kavanaugh about getting Judge to testify under oath, while ignoring the statements of PJ Smyth and Leland Keiser. This emphasis on Mark Judge is the Democrats TELL.
Look for the Dems and the media to scream louder and louder about Judge in the coming days, and especially if Kavanaugh is confirmed. He is the key to this whole smear campaign.

Of course..Ford read the book and based her “Assault” based on everything in that book

The R’s were supposed to do the D’s bidding, as usual. They didn’t, calling for harsher tactics. So, let’s be sure we get the women’s votes by using Ford.
Not surprising. I don’t think they meant for it to go as far as it did.
More likely, Democrats read the book and wrote the script for her to learn, rehearse while she delayed testifying for fear of flying and then act out for the world to see..
It’s also the basis for some of the other charges. They also scoured his friends yearbooks and face book pages. This is exactly why the investigations are held secretly before the voting process.
As I posted on another thread :Somebody, somewhere has to ask Ford under oath if she read Judge’s book and if she did, when she did so and if she purchased the book herself

Wouldn’t it be an amazing thing if Mark Judge stated, “It wasn’t Kavanaugh who did this to Dr. Ford. He is innocent. It was me. And since Brett and I looked much like each other in High School, I can understand her confusion over details of the incident. But I will state unequivocally, It was I who committed the assault she speaks of. Not Brett Kavanaugh.”
The buddy of Kavanaugh’s that “looked just like him” is another guy.

I agree with this theory. Hence Ford’s Safeway comment.
Note to self - trash that idea of writing a million dollar best seller of fast times at Podunk High.

She’d pretend to not know anything about the book or an order of it on her amazon account.
No one asked where the Safeway was located in which Judge worked and she had the “bump into” meeting with employee Judge.
I would wager it unlikely that she knew where that was, because the event was “made-up”. And even if she happened to identify it correctly, the next followup question would be why she was shopping there, many miles from her home, having to pass by many other grocery stores to get there.
And then compare her encounter at Safeway (~6 months after the alleged grope incident) with when she got her driver’s license. Was she driving herself around then? Or accompanied by a parent or other driver at a grocery store remote from her home?
All of this line of questioning evokes the smell of BS.
It would be interesting if Mark Judge wrote Safeway in his book but found out since then it was another store. We’ll have to wait an see.
