Senate Republicans unload on Flake
Politico ^ | November 29, 2018 | Borgess Everett and Elana Schor

Jeff Flake is finally taking a stand on the need to protect Robert Mueller — and it’s infuriating his fellow Republicans.

The retiring Arizona senator is undermining the Senate GOP’s efforts to approve as many lifetime-appointed federal judges as possible in the lame duck. His vow to oppose all judges until he gets a vote shielding the special counsel from presidential interference has already frozen 21 judicial picks in committee and on Thursday helped derail a nominee on the Senate floor.

He must be so compromised. Beyond Ryan compromised.

Ryan is the biggest cuckhold in the history of the US Congress. Stood by and watched us all get monkey-hammered.

All Republicans should hate that guy but I believe Romney is giving him his marching orders and you will see Romney pick this up in the new senate. These establishment republicans are real scum.

I’d love to know what they’re holding over Flake’s head. Whatever’s in his FBI file must be a doozie. Anybody care to speculate? I speculate that he likes underage girls.

it’s not “really irrelevant”, it’s a big deal he is childishly obstructing judges from being voted on - Flake is there to do his job, was elected to work for the good of AZ and the country and instead he is holding judge seats hostage for a vote of some thing he himself wants, that is so out of line with his purpose and position of senator it’s sickening, but thankfully he can no longer do that as senator after December.

Unless Collins goes wonky, too, thanks to our 53 seats we are Mittens-proof.

The Stupid Party.

* Paul Ryan talks about irregularities in California vote counting.
* Paul Ryan talks about regrets over immigration and other matters.
* Multiple Republicans investigate countless Democrats and pound the table during interviews about wrong doing.
* Republicans complain about Jeff Flake holding them hostage.

And yet, nothing is EVER done about this beyond hot air. Sure, Republican promised to repeal ObamaCare. Sure Republicans funded a border wall in 2006. Sure Republicans put on a great show about Hillary and her emails and countless other illegalities, but Republicans just never seem to be able to do anything about anything — other than putting on a good show to appease the base.

Call me when someone - besides Trump - finds the fortitude to actually do something — anything.

Well stated in all regards

Likely so. But the Pubes can also ram through judicial nominations at will.

Flake only has so much power, because it’s a 51-49 Senate, and MooCowSki and Collins are there to give backup.

In a 53-47 Senate, without Flake, Romney is far less powerful, as even if he brings MooCowSki and Collins with him, It’s still 50-50 and Pence breaks the tie.

I think that this p.o.s. (Flake) is keeping his oath he gave to the dying McLame to thwart Trump to the very end.
May the maggots continue their good work.

A one termer who couldn’t win a primary in his state, and thought his “retirement” announcement was so important he had to go on some tirade on the floor of the senate?

YOU SERVED 1 TERM.. You are a NOBODY... why the GOP ever put this guy on the Judiciary Committee in the first place is beyond me.

I think Flake’s a closeted homosexual. That’s probably where he’s compromised.

Republicans just never seem to be able to do anything about anything

******************

All they do is talk and that, sadly, seems to be enough for most of them to stay in office. Republican voters are gullible. If you look back on it, the GOP is really a failed party that is long on promises but rarely if ever produces significant results that advance conservative principles. We have been played for too long.

The GOP is never going to change. We need a new party with convictions that represents conservative voters. We need to replace the elephant with a bulldog.

Do Flake a big favor - punch him in the face - claim you were trying to straighten out his nose - for his own good, of course.

Romney is joining Sasse the ass and bunches of other Bush League Republicans still in the Senate.
There are still plenty of them wanting to pass amnesty and fundamentally transform the USA into North Mexico.
