Christmas Decor

at the People's House!

The White House Decor

First lady Melania Trump unveiled the White House Christmas theme , 'American Treasures'

'This is a joyous time of year when we decorate the White House for the Christmas Season,' the first lady said in a statement. 'Our theme honors the heart and spirit of the American people. Thank you to the many volunteers and staff who worked hard to decorate the halls of the People's House in Christmas cheer. On behalf of my family, we wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.'

~~The theme focuses on patriotism with red, white and blue dominating the decor throughout the White House

~~Ornaments pay tribute to her 'Be Best' campaign and Barron's love of soccer

~~Skyline etchings show architecture, which the president loves, and the Chicago one features Trump Tower

~~The official White House Christmas Tree is decorated in 500 feet of blue velvet ribbon embroidered in gold with each state and territory

~~The White House will host more than 100 open houses with more than 30,000 visitors taking public tours. Happily omitted this year the Snarky Media party. Good riddance!

There are several decorative themes that touch on the first family's personal interests.

The White House's Red Room, which is designed to appeal to children, features 'Be Best' ornaments, the first lady's signature initiative, and soccer ball ornaments, likely a nod to Barron Trump's love of the game.

The tree in there is filled with items Barron Trump would love, including the soccer ball ornament and cell phone ornaments. The tree also has ornaments paying tribute to kids' favorite activities, including a skate board, a karate uniform, a film board clapper, cheese pieces, ice skates, books and a baseball glove.

The mantle is covered in white ornaments with Be Best written in red and white, all part of the first lady's signature campaign.

The OFFICIAL White House tree stands just under 20 feet tall. 500 feet of blue velvet ribbon enbroidered in gold with each state and territory.

Holiday candy will be given to some visitors, and the packages each feature Donald and Melania's signature, as well as the same gold engraving of the White House that is on the first family's Christmas card

The 2018 Christmas Card

The official White House Christmas card features the signatures of the president, first lady and Barron Trump, just as it did last year, however this year's version includes an engraving of the White House, instead of the Presidential seal like last year's

Barron's Special Guest
WH Reception (12-11-18)

Barron Trump doesn't make many public appearances, but he was more than happy to turn out for the White House Christmas Party on Sunday night.

That's because the soccer-loving 12-year-old got the chance to meet one of his heroes - legendary English player Wayne Rooney.

Donald Trump's youngest son was all smiles as he took photos with Rooney, who arrived at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue with his wife Coleen and their four sons.

Rooney and his family were reportedly personally invited by the president to the party, which was also attended by Ivanka and Vanessa Trump and their children.

Rooney, Coleen, and their sons Kai, nine, Klay, five, Kit, two, and nine-month-old Cass were given a tour of Trump's private quarters.

Rooney, 33, and his family recently moved to Washington DC after he received a $13million two-and-half year contract with DC United in July and decided to leave the Premier League team Everton - and his life in England - behind.

Thank you for the awesome picture collection. I am especially happy to learn that Barron had a good time at a White House Christmas party which included the pro soccer player and his family on the guest list.

Dolly,

A wonderful array of photos.

Thank you!

President Trump and First Lady Melania have returned a sense of class and decorum to the White House.

HEH: ‘Oh, no’: The day Trump learned to tweet.
When Trump’s young social media manager saw the tweet, he was perplexed. He typically typed and sent Trump’s tweets for the boss, but in this case he hadn’t. He did recall that Trump had been spending a lot of time in his office lately playing around with a new Android smartphone.

The next morning, the handful of staffers with access to the boss’s account told the social media manager, Justin McConney, that they had not sent it either.

That’s when it dawned on him: Donald Trump had tweeted on his own for the first time.

“The moment I found out Trump could tweet himself was comparable to the moment in ‘Jurassic Park’ when Dr. Grant realized that velociraptors could open doors,” recalled McConney, who was the Trump Organization’s director of social media from 2011 to 2017. “I was like, ‘Oh no.’ “

What happened next was history: Trump tweeted himself right into the Oval Office. That alone might be enough to explain why the platform has spent the last two years silencing right-leaning voices.
