At least one battle must be won to win a war. Conservatives don’t have guts for even a single one.
No POTUS is a dictator, yet.
Until that happens, a Trump “declaration of emergency” will be challenged in battle like no “declaration” in US History, even while he is trying to actually uphold the law, which you alluded to. And it will likely be very drawn out. This time, I expect both Congress and the SCOTUS to really “mix it up”, both legally (even if illegal), and legislatively, against the POTUS.
Almost no contemporary lawless legislator, jurist, or president will be subject to flagrantly breaking/violating our Constitution and laws, as long as they are serving to bring about the goal of a humanistic sovereign global socialist government, designed to subjugate and enslave all!
What we are witnessing is absolute proof of the real enemy within, and their goals to kill liberty in America and the world, to bring us to the threshold of the new global socialist order (with tyrannical and genocidal leftists in control of the US). The anti-God anti-American global socialists, who desire to make subservient the United States, have been fully exposed to any with open eyes. You are right, they may not lose this fight short of war, meaning a real war. They would use this war to further subjugate the US population, if they were to win and remain in control. While some would desire to believe it anecdotal for me to conclude this, I will say it anyway - The influence of humanism, uninterrupted pay checks, relationships with liberal and left wing spouses and children, left wing academia, and the media’s left wing strangle hold, are too great within the Pentagon itself, for many or most of them, to choose to fight for what is right. Many in the DoD today, will debate the existence of right and wrong.
I could be wrong, and I hope I am wrong, but I do not believe Trump will go so far either. As the best way to avoid a real war, is for an enemy to know in advance, there is enough resolve and character against them to win it.
What you are hoping for and saying are lawfully correct, if the Constitution were to be properly applied.
At the end of the day, liberty cannot exist in the absence of recognition and practice of individual morality!
As such, the threat of tyranny is not an “if”, but a “when”, as utter moral bankruptcy, historical illiteracy, and illiteracy in the principles of liberty make up more than a majority throughout society today. As well, there is little to no relation between current generations, and previous generations who loved God more, knew world history more accurately, and of the overwhelming dominance of genocidal tyranny throughout it, and who understood the frailty and dogged vigilance required to keep us all from being real slaves in every way.
America has been drifting lawless for a long time. Subtle moral compromises have brought us to the brink of tyranny. We have lost blatantly unconstitutional rulings for decades. The horrifically barbaric “abortion rights” campaign with tens of millions baby people painfully mutilated to death, homosexual rulings, the loss of moral bearing and hate for those who espouse moral boundaries, stronger and ever increasing acceptance of federal governance over the states, (desovereignization of the states), and now the desire for desovereignization of the US in favor of a sovereign centralized global socialist/Marxist government.
We have been witnessing the tidal wave of anti-God socialist rulings since FDR’s left wing packed SCOTUS and judicial branch, and all who have - and are willing to compromise with evil, immorality, and any enemies of liberty - the generations of amoral, humanistic, and socialistic indoctrinated members of society. These have grown in number and humanistic and pagan militancy, and can no longer be beaten within their mutually reflective terminally corrupt parliamentary form of government. Even if there is an intermittently elected President with character and resolve.
What we need as a nation, is to turn back to God, regardless of the cost, and to turn back! This is the only possible way to avoid Gods judgement.
*Hopefully Trump can break from his well established two year “only do what the courts say I can do” pattern.
However, in this case, I believe Congress and the courts will go far beyond anything they have ever done, regardless of how lawless, to keep everything going in the same completely terminal direction of societal suicide and the end of our liberty and nation.
I don’t desire to see or believe this at all either, but it also appears either Trump and his advisors, have decided to keep him from taking any dangerous and serious action, against the lawless RICO, sedition, and treason which has taken place, and which has involved actual joint conspiracy between the DNC/Intel/DOJ/Kremlin/Brit/Aussy efforts to carry out an actual Coup (ongoing) - yes against the president, but more importantly our electorate, and the Constitution of the United States.
Well and truly exposited. People who lie daily to empower their world view are not fit for or to run a Constitutional Republic. Yet there Nazi Pelosi and vomit Schumer are, running the Congress.

Trump was elected to slow our transition to “Mexico North”.
Over halfway through his term, there has been little or no progress on this promise.
No wall.
No reduction in illegal immigration.
No reduction in immigration from the third world.
He has, of course, been thwarted by the garbage within his own party, an entirely hostile media, agenda-driven judges etc. He has been swimming entirely upstream from day one. But some of the blame must fall also on him. The focus and follow through seems lacking. Not to mention the bad timing by not driving through the wall at all costs, back when the House was led by the awful, but less awful than Pelosi, Paul Ryan.
It would have been a win if he would have signed a 6 month extension.
He gave them 15 days. They gave him the fact he issued checks and a shot at making his case in the SOTU.
Maybe he should fight back? If he didn't want to accept the risks of the job, why did he run?

It's still the same country that voted for Obama twice. This wasn't a revolution by any stretch. He won by the skin of his teeth over a horrible candidate, that even liberals despised for the most part.

wow...seems I have heard the “he’s three moves ahead” so many times, yet, we are all in the craper so many times...are any of the deep staters, coup de’tat and other fouls, sulfur smell SOBs suffering a damn thing yet? Pretty simple. The government entered a partial shutdown because the Congress failed to pass all of the required appropriations measures and send them to the President for his signature. Did I miss any vetoes on his part? No, I didn’t, the Congress failed to act.
The President intends to act through executive authority, but he must do what he is doing now in order to make his case before the Supreme Court that he has followed the normal process and the Congress refusing to address the border security matters that represent a national security threat. A challenge through the courts will certainly occur and when he comes, he will be ready.
