I don’t believe OPEC is in any position to help him.

They leveraged their oil for cash loans from China and other countries. Now, like a druggie, they have no more assets to sell at the pawn shop.

Maduro is one army general away from el mucho caca.

"'shameless dispossession' of Venezuelan assets"

Under Chavez Venezuela dispossessed many industries; Oil, Gas, Banking and Finance, communications, Agriculture, Power Generation, Transportation... The West should have declared war long ago for theft.

Cutting off Maduro from paying his military generals huge $$$$$$ to sustain their loyalty..so he’s hurting in his ability to bribe loyalty.

That’s an excellent point.

And corrupt Generals and Colonels in Latin America have always had escape plans and a place to go if and when things fall apart. This time they might not have many those options.

Proxy war coming if they don't find a solution....both sides arming up by ‘interested parties’ as we write. Will be further interesting to see which way Venezuela’s military swings....I don't think Maduro has what is required to sustain their greedy pockets loyalty.

I agree. Maduro is toast....it’s only a matter of time. I have a friend in Columbia and the number of people leaving Venezuela is tremendous. Most are educated, productive citizens.

They can get a full range of retirement options through a quick visit to their friendly CIA office. Of course, they will need to bring along a portfolio of assets to sell and be prepared to wait in line.
