2019 is not 1999. What’s acceptable now and then is totally different.
In 1999, had Trump been President, there wouldn’t be a bogus impeachment of a President for doing what he’s Constitutionally assigned to do.
There wouldn’t be avowed Communists and Jihadis in Congress.
There wouldn’t be Red Guards getting away with assault against their political opponents, on an almost daily basis, with the full approval of a major political party and the Mockingbird Media.
You wouldn’t have people being run out of restaurants for their mainstream political beliefs.
There wouldn’t be people seriously asserting that there are more than 2 genders, and that anyone who disagrees should be censored, deplatformed, expelled or even jailed.
I could go on.

I agree! The democrats might be stupid enough to try to impeach Trump. The end result will be disasterous for them. They will lose the 2020 election badly. It will be years for them to recover. In the meantime, Trump will then fulfill all of his campaign promises without much resistance because the dems will be impotent. So go ahead and impeach him.
Anyone who places utter confidence in the Senate is naive.
