Horowitz Goes Full Comey
americanthinker.com ^ | December 11, 2019 | Daniel John Sobieski

Like disgraced former FBI director James Comey before him exonerating Hillary Clinton for her crimes, DOJ inspector general Michael Horowitz presents us with a documented list of crimes, fraud, and deception in the FISA warrant application process by the FBI but then says never mind — these are bureaucratic mistakes made without bias and without intent. There still was sufficient predicate, says he, for starting an investigation and surveillance of Team Trump, even as Horowitz admits that the first FISA warrant, the one authorizing surveilling Carter Page, was riddled with errors and omissions of key exculpatory evidence. It was the first of four frauds committed on the FISA court, a felony. We have confirmation that the first FISA application, at least, was based almost solely on what Comey himself called the "unverified and salacious" Steele dossier, paid for by the Clinton campaign and the DNC. Yet the FBI "forgot" to ask or inform the court who paid for it. Former deputy FBI director Andrew McCabe has stated that without the Steele dossier, there would have been no FISA warrants at all and no investigation of Team Trump. Ironically, this was confirmed by the I.G. Report: The much awaited Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) report, conducted by Inspector General Michael Horowitz, was released today. It finds that the FBI would not have had enough claimed evidence to secretly surveil former Trump aide Carter Page, and thus the Trump 2016 campaign, without using a "dossier" of opposition research funded by the Hillary Clinton campaign. In 2016, after Page left the Trump campaign, the FBI asked the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC) for a warrant to secretly surveil Page.

agreed- that really was the start of all this nonsense were witness today- with all the stinking ‘gender ‘confusion’ etc- because of all the idiotic word play-

When he did that- he began the downfall of truth and common sense- seriously- The left have really assaulted the truth in recent decades- and now we’re living in some kind of weird fantasy world- where right is wrong and wrong is right now- thanks to the smarmy liberals that bastardized the truth via idiotic word games-

Page was working FOR the CIA. Unbelievable that an attorney altered a document to read that he was NOT working for the CIA. I believe the attorney has been indicted...or at least is on his way to be.

Most of us saw this coming for a very long time. He is trying to protect his buddies. Don’t know if he’ll be able to do so ultimately.
Too much evidence exists to contradict his narrative.

Political bias doesn’t matter a hill of beans

The question should be was the FISA warrants legal? Looks like they weren’t.

That is for Bill Barr to build a case and start indictments/subpoenas

Horowitz is done here

Lee is bringing this out. The key here is THE OPENING...which is different than the FISA issue

IG does say there is no satisfactory explanation for what took place with the FISA court

IG makes no finding about bias as it relates to FISA Court. Sheldon Whitehouse trying to say it was just failure of management. IG points out again...it may not just be that...its that at a minimum

Seems there are actions to impeach President Trump after the election next year.

Guess there is no end.

Bias itself isn’t the crime

The crime is did they obtain FISA warrants through fraudulent information to spy on a political campaign?

That is the crime

Bias was the distraction and the media is running with it cause it is all they got out of it.

Even today, if impeachment fails, they will find Plan B, C, D to get rid of Trump.

Honestly I think they are on plan H or I by now

I don't think these FBI agents are biased. They are DNC activists trying to over-throw an election.

Mike Lee just got horowitz to admit it too- Horowitz said he could only rule on the investigative facts that he had, and couldn’t in essence say that there wasn’t political bias based on his limited evidence-

In DC as always:

Follow the money.

A few are bribed, but most are offered zero risk “investment opportunities”.

My comment was to refute the narrative the fake news is selling and some uninformed conservatives are buying. Horowitz is not saying there was no bias. He is saying it did not predicated the initial investigation.

Oh please. It’s been 3 years of this scandal and not one single indictment.
3 years.

The start of the investigation was characterized by Horowitz as being when Popadopolos mentioned to an Australian Ambassador that Russia had dirt on Clinton. The issuance of FISA warrants was after this and it has been undetermined if political bias was a factor according to Horowitz. The context is when the investigation began and was there bias.

Sad day! Mistakes made and NO political bias!!

If there's no bias then the mistakes will fall roughly 50/50 to either side. If the many "mistakes" were 100% in the direction of helping Hillary and hurting Trump then they were not mistakes at all.

Don’t let the Media pull the wool over your eyes stating that bias is the crime. Everyone has bias, it doesn’t matter. The question is, were there actions legal?

You are correct.

Laws were broken. A lot of laws were broken. Matters not whether they were biased or not...they broke very serious laws and should be punished.
