The evangelical pastor who vowed to keep preaching unless he was "in jail or the hospital" has died of COVID-19 ... only weeks after defiantly opening his church doors. Bishop Gerald Glenn showed off his jam-packed congregation back on March 22 at the New Deliverance Evangelistic Church in Richmond, VA ... telling followers to stand up and prove their numbers ... despite social distancing guidelines and warnings against large gatherings in the face of the coronavirus pandemic. His church announced that Glenn died on, of all days, Easter Sunday from COVID-19 a week after testing positive for the novel coronavirus.

Next to an aborted baby, nothing pleases the left more than a dead white Christian male.
This pastor was a black male
Can hear the “See I told you so” even now all over by the MSM and the fake and luke warm Christians. But at least he has presumeably gone on home to be with his maker.
Well, at least the gene pool just got a little better.
Bad optic. No story here
Considering how many elderly attend church regularly, this kind of event is just a petri dish for the coronavirus.
Do you suppose they think tempting fate (God?) is admirable? Do they think that their enthusiasm for the Lord is going to immunize them (and their children and grandparents) from COVID-19.
I don't know what it is that turns Christians into idiots, but--whatever it is--it is real.
Or perhaps these people were already idiots, but now that they are Christians they are just advertising it.
I grew up in a Christian community in the deep South. Even as a child, it was apparent to me that the biggest impediment to Christianity (for a non-believer)...was other Christians.
The Lord surely loves them, but a bigger group of idiots just doesn't exist (with the exception of those gathered at the coming Democratic National Convention, of course).
This pastor was old, black and had severe health problems. His calling was to preach the word and be bold in the face of death.
How many lukewarm christians are out there who call his action stupid?
God bless him for standing up for Christ. I can imagine no better Easter than one spent in the arms of Jesus
Noted. The death is therefore .05% more regrettable to the despicable media
I can see the smiles on the faces of the TMZ staff as they penned this article...
No HCQ for him?
Amen.
If this was about a single individual taking a risk for his faith, one can say it was something heroic to do.
If this was about a crowd of churchgoers taking a risk for their faith, one can say it was a bold demonstration of their faith.
But once John Q Public becomes infected because this pastor or someone else in that congregation stopped at the same 7-11 down the street after the Sunday service, then someone else is affected.
It's not just about the pastor; it's about everyone else.
It probably wouldn’t have done any good. Another article said he had a health issue that caused him to get infections and fevers. His family said he didn’t seek treatment until it was too late.
Frankly this can happen with any large group. People who do stupid things stand out if you are a member of the same group and hence notice their stupidity or a member of an opposing group and cite their stupidity as an example of why they are wrong.
The number of churches that operating “business as usual” is very small, but a hostile press is going to give them extra attention.
Who knows where he got it. And those folks in 7-11 were there by choice. Have you seen the covid oositive rate in iceland was 50% of those tested? 50% and they were symptomatic. Im not sure this whole lockdown has done anything at all. We will never know but the dems and government will take credit for ot thats for sure.
You can say that about any disease. You’re saying never go to church after all some hypothetical “could happen”. In the current scenario, people have to decide what is worth the risk. He chose going to church and preaching. Most people are choosing going to the liquor store.
Well maybe when people say that it’s not a good idea to hold church service in a small, likely poorly-ventilated room, in close contact with people.... people scoffing at that and accusing folks of “not liking liberty” should actually pay attention?
Just like I predicted with other instances, you get a lot of “hell yeahs” when the story comes out that regular service with no changes will take place, then when something like this happens, then you get a bunch of sheepish replies trying to pass the scorn off to someone else, or even trying to paint this as a good thing, because that’s what
Christ would have wanted.
