The syndrome caused the 2002–2004 SARS outbreak.

And hydroxychloroquine was investigated as a treatment for SARS-CoV-1.

I don't know the exact timing of everything, but it looks like this was an extrapolation of the then current SARS outbreak rather than a masterful prediction.

The Dead Zone movie ended with the politician being discredited. The TV Show seemed to have been discontinued. The TV Show was entertaining.

The potential of chloroquine as an antiviral has been noted since at least since 2003, possibly earlier. See this Nov 2003 paper:
