He gave a good soundbite, but that was it.
I figured Gowdy for a deep state protection device when his great committee hearings full of fireworks never led to anything. Linda Graham the same.
He had his rabid fan club here on FR. Along with that of the Evil Keebler Elf, Sessions.

The GOP is just as corrupt as the Democrats...Maybe 15% of both parties are not crooks..but there stuck in the back of the bus..
Folks on committees are not able to do anything...it’s question and answering.

Anyone remember when Gowdy stood up for Comey, regarding Hillary’s emails?
He said there was some really secret stuff he couldn’t talk about, and that Comey gave her a pass because he that was the only way he could protect the integrity of the FBI.
I am happy about two things:
1. Gowdy is no longer in the House
2. That he doesn’t seem to have a job in the White House.
He was supposed to start there, but hopefully, President Trump has seen something he doesn’t like about Trey. I know I have.
Well, he may have been a failure as an honest, patriotic Republican Representative...
But he will go down in history as being one of the greatest Kabuki Theater actors of all time, so he’s got that going for him.
Yep he is just like Linda Graham, all Hannity red meat and no burgers. The other one that will be reveiled is Bill Barr is also deep state. He is over the DOJ, yet its was Flynn attorney Sidney Powell that force the department he is over to pull the charges. If Barr really was running things, he would have pulled this a year ago. The travesty of his department witholding information that would have exonerated an American hero like Flynn just shows Barr is also someone that doesn’t want the truth to come out. Just ask Christopher Wray!
In May 2018, Gowdy challenged President Trump’s theory that the FBI had spied on his 2016 presidential campaign— keeping in mind the “active” Mueller crapola that was “predicated” by Rosenstein for his tres amigo buddy Mueller (and along the way his other amigo, Comey,was fired). Personally, Gowdy seems to love the concept of the law and not see how those who bend and distort the Rule of law (criminal govt. operatives he formerly worked closely with in the FBI— at notably lower levels) are the actual enemies. Close association in federal cases he tried can do that-— and still blind one from the reality. Think it would be a rather different opinion if he’d been in Boston when Mueller was letting Whitey Bulger clean out the Italian mafia in favor the Kennedy Irish mob (and their German pals— an old NorAid alliance, frankly).
So, Ryan praised all this anti Trump shite from Gowdy, because Ryan and the rest of the payoff repubs from the Ukraine kickback operation (and of course in Ryan’s case the Romneybot offshore Panama Papers payoff money— and, WHAT RNC idiot came up with Romney Ryan?== the obamaumaocare twins?) Gowdy voted consistently against obamaumaocare. All during the McCain’s famous bullcrap “no vote to remove” in the Senate. Gowdy supported Rubio in the pres primary. And Lindsey and McCain back then-— both profiting from Benghazi gun running. Nasty place, DC.
Ryan is not so strangely silent now the Flynn case is blown wide open— as is FISA gate and obamaumaogate. His Fox job— but he has some splaining to do. Him and Romney. Silent.
Yet, Gowdy went at it with Peter Strzok— whom he has intimated was a see eye A plant in the FBI (clearly he was- Brennan’s operative, who worked directly to Brennan), and the exchanges took the scales from his eyes in re: spying on the campaign and on Trump. It was Sidney Blumenthal who pressed the “non-hiring” of Gowdy for the Trump legal team (inclusive of Giuliani)-and NYT’s deep stater mouthpiece (according to Gowdy— ALL of NYTimes are leak contacts for the FBI and obama DOJ) Maggie Haberman.....these two influenced (probably through Coats) Gowdy not to be hired by Trump.
Trump has gotten rid of Coats, and now Maguire (and the interim Brennan Bot chick from see eye A, the In-Q-Tel techie queen) from the DNI role.
Gowdy is back in Columbia with a power firm there, and yeah, he has to maintain “friends” with Lindsey. OTOH he can be helpful sidelining Clyburn et al. He seems to like the

Sessions could have killed this at the root of he had done his job.
Now that makes sense. The both know the DC two-step very well. They imply they will do this or that but never actually follow through. Yep; makes sense they are related.
Sessions could have done a lot of things. Except he went back to what he knew - demonizing marijuana, stealing stuff from citizens without due process, and making loud noises while sitting on his arse doing nothing.
