Democrat Senator and former VP running mate of Hillary Clinton, Tim Kaine (VA) on Tuesday said the United States created slavery.

To think this degenerate liar almost became Vice President of the United States.

“The United States didn’t inherit slavery from anybody. We created it,” said Tim Kaine as he droned on about racism in America.

The British countenanced slavery within our borders 150 years before America began the war of independence. We inherited it and was left with the mess of it!

Slavery existed in ancient times, in ancient Egypt, China, Africa, Greece, Persia, and almost all places globally from time immemorial. Slavery existed in the America’s before Columbus. But Tim Kaine doesn’t know any of that.

Black captives were sold in North America as indentured servants to British colonists in 1619. These and others were later converted to the legal status of “slaves”. But Tim Kaine doesn’t know any of that.

No such thing as the United States existed until at least 1776. But Tim Kaine doesn’t know that.

Does Kaine even know what day it is? Are all these elderly white Democrats comprehensively ignorant or demented?

The Republicans were formed out of the Whigs, and I think I read the other day that about 1/3rd of the slaveowners were Whigs.

Oh, that was "the Whigs". They were defeated too.

The Abolitionists became the Repubicans.

Stupid jerk-Kaine. The US did not even exist when slaves were first brought to this country. And how did that happen? Well, the slave markets were in Africa, and it was not Americans who were running the ships bringing slaves to the colonies.

And the USA fought a civil war, outlawed slavery, but there are places in the world, where slavery still exists—so Kaine should go take care of those places, if he really cares about human rights.

I don’t think anyone can ‘inherit slavery’. It is a result of mankind’s sinful nature and has been around as long as civilization - or another way of saying it, as long as there are bullies.

It was Great Britain who first proclaimed that slavery was no longer tolerated within their borders or their kingdom’s territories. About 15 years ago or so, there was a very good movie about this subject named “Amazing Grace”. It was about William Wilberforce and his persistence in fighting the institution. The British outlawed slavery in 1820, I believe. The abolition of slavery then began to grow across the world, but mainly in the English language nations.

We all know that the American Civil War was fought over slavery - although the Confederate states claimed it’s purpose was “States Rights”. The problem was that states rights is a political philosophy in contrast slavery which permits the owning of persons by other persons, like animals or property. So, anyway you look at it, the real reason was whether the USA would remain half free and half slave states. The rest is history.

And the countries and people from whence the word slave originated.... Slavs, the Slavic people were throughout history enslaved by the Rus, Genghis Khan, the Mongols, and yes... the Islamofascists— the Muslim Horde that made it all the way to Spain (which it forced into Islam, removing the Christians, and stealing converting the Christian churches into mosques.

Muslims are still enlsaving people today— in Yemen, in Africa and in many other regions. They are un-enlightened as to human trafficking. In fact the muslims were White Slavers, females shopped to bidders more than men.

They singlehandedly caused slavery to be abolished in Massachusetts,

Strange, I have not read any single cases in the Massachusetts, where the activist judges that took it upon themselves to outlaw slavery in the state citing Jefferson’s words as a basis for their decisions.
Can you provide me some writing were these activist judges made their decisions based on Jefferson’s thoughts.

Kaine really needs to step away from the bong-Britain didn’t even abolish slavery until the 1830’s-long after the American colonies became independent-but they left it legal in their colony in India-France abolished it in the 1840’s, etc, etc-how did we create it with all that going on?

The Greeks and Romans had slavery, which wasn't voluntary. Usually it was because of being on the losing side in a war, or being born to a slave woman, but in some cases the victims of kidnapping by pirates.

Spartacus was not a voluntary slave.

And slavery is over. Hundreds of thousands died to end it. Let’s talk about them.

Good Lord. They act like it’s still going on.

The Great Pyramids date back to the Old Kingdom, at least 1000 years before the Israelites were enslaved in Egypt (probably more).

Not even gonna read this obvious garbage. Slavery is as old as mankind and is still practiced today in certain corners of the world.

Mohammed owned slaves. Joseph was sold as a slave in Egypt. The Children of Israel were slaves in Egypt. Sparta was a militarized state because of their many slaves. The Romans owned slaves.

The Southern colonies believed in their hearts that they had humanized slavery and improved it over that of the West Indies, where they literally worked their slaves to death. Instead they were allowed to breed, thereby eliminating the need for further trafficking across the Atlantic in human chattels, and the horrific conditions under which those chattels were shipped. When the Declaration proclaimed that all men are created equal and endowed with certain inalienable rights, the new nation, conceived in liberty, became plagued with the contradiction of slavery to that creed. Kain is not ignorant, he just hopes that his audience will be.
