Funny that over the past few days I’ve been playing VH songs constantly in my head.

And apparently everybody is downloading VH on iTunes.

Good but not great. Much more of a fan of Van Hagar. Fortunately, Van Hagar, as The Circle, lives on.

I listened to the Fair Warning album a few days ago. First time in years. A reminder of how astonishingly good it was

Been listening to quite a bit of VH lately. If my parents want to blame someone for me giving up piano and taking up the guitar, they should blame Eddie.

I listened to that one last night. It’s my favorite VH album.

I have Apple Music, so I can access any Van Halen song at any time or play Van Halen albums or build Van Halen playlists unlimited.

...which is nice.

I would encourage you to do this. Go onto YouTube, and find a video of Van Halen performing live in maybe 1979 or 1980. The energy, musicianship, and just raw exuberance of it all will make you wish you were young again. Musical taste is subjective, but I can’t see how anyone who is a fan of rock and roll could call that band just good.

The beginning of that song is a car horn, the effect is the tape speed slowing down.

That’s exactly what Eddie himself did.

(Until “And The Cradle Will Rock” that is, which featured a Wurlitzer 200A electric piano.)

The sound Ted Templeman gave them is strong, but I wish he hadn’t mixed Eddie’s guitar all the way to the left channel.

Van Halen is one of the great bands of all-time. I just think it was better when Sammy Hagar was the lead singer and co-writing the songs.

Diamond Dave is overrated.

the band seemed more mature with their songs with Hagar....

Maybe, but not nearly as fun. chicks loved the first VH at a party and that was worth something back then. Now they listen to rap and get impregnated by... well, nevermind .

I love both Hagar and Dave years. But once Hagar came on I never wanted to go back.

So great. Love the tone of Alex’s drums.

I agree. “Hot for Teacher” is also right up there.
