If more Americans looked upon George Washington as a Hero, and role model, our country would be much better off.

Interesting article about Washington. He was truly an incredible leader who not only defeated the colossal Britain but founded the Presidency. No question that the “Father of the Country” is an appropriate appelation. He did die relatively shortly after leaving office. Always wondered how much real peace and contentment he found after his strenuous accomplishments. What really happens to old generals who must live long after the young soldiers they led died in battle or suffered horrendous wounds? Was there any significance to the fact that Washington supported his estate by distilling whiskey during his brief retirement?

The “role model” for the left is the Serpent in the Garden.

I’ve been intensely interested in this period of history. I did not know until fairly recently of Washington’s role at the start of the French and Indian War.
