Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, is grieving over, as CNN reporter Dana Bash put it, President Trump's "very firm grip on the Republican Party."
Bash recently asked Romney whether he fears the party won't "be able to overcome Trumpism in the near future."
Romney didn't object to Bash's negative characterization of Trumpism. He merely responded that he believes "Trump will continue to have a substantial influence on the party" and that those other than Trump who are rumored to be GOP presidential candidates in 2024 "are trying to appeal to kind of a populist approach."

I don’t like Romney. I haven’t since he was the Gov of Mass. Trump humiliated him in front of the world. I can understand why Romney would do everything to hurt Trump.

Romney is far more useful to Democrats as a Republican. Plus his main goal is to move the GOP and his church to the left. It’s not a secret plan. It is in the GOP “autopsy report” written by the RNC after Obama wiped the floor with Romney.
The GOP is useless...Trump needs to take over the GOP or start a new party...the name has to change...the GOP is toast without Trump and his supporters

Where did I say I felt bad for him. You seem to read things that are not stated.
There are reasons for people’s behavior. When a person is purposely humiliated do you expect them to just brush it off? You don’t have to like the person, but you can understand the situation.
I think it’s much deeper than the humiliation. I think Mitt, and more importantly his son, is in up to his neck in illegal activity (including human trafficking) in Ukraine and he knows Trump’s mission is to bring him and the rest of the crooks down. Just like the reason McCain had such animosity for Trump; it wasn’t the humiliation and what Trump said about his POW status. I think he knew Trump would expose his treasonous association with al-Baghdadi and ISIS and probably the fact that he sang like a bird while at the HH. Because Trump has the receipts!
