From 2008 until 2016, there was a shortage of civilian small arms ammunition. It began in late 2008 and continued through nearly all of 2010, and then began again in 2012. Almost all popular calibers including 9mm, 7.62mm, and .45 caliber were impacted – and it impacted the once cheaply priced .22 LR as sport shooters turned to the smaller caliber weapons.
It doesn’t take a serious study to note that the ammo shortage began with the election of President Barack Obama, who was often noted to be “the greatest gun salesmen” in the history of the United States. Fears of different types of firearm bans or limitations led to impulse buying of firearms and with it an increase in consumers stocking up on ammunition.
Now with President-elect Joe Biden about to take office, the United States is once again in the midst of a serious ammo shortage, but it isn’t just driven by fears that Biden will institute an all-out assault on the Second Amendment.

We won’t be able to practice as we’re stockpiling. Too few people know how to properly reload. This is Alinsky to a tee. They’ve overwhelmed the system.
Been here for many months already. Gun shortage too.
I’m interested in knowing why there is an ammo shortage. Can you post the entire article? It’s for your benefit, trust me.
Definitely an issue with supply, however I can still find my required caliber/gauge. The problem is the cost per round.
Makes me glad I’ve been a hoarder over the past several years.
Try Military Surplus stores, I scored 2 large boxes of .38 SP, since my income is SS I had to wait On the next check to get more. The 9mm had to have some work done on it, need more ammo for it too.
ALREADY!?
Hope it comes through!
“ They’ve overwhelmed the system.”
Cloward-Piven.
began with the election of President Barack Obama,

Obama was never eligible to be President under our Constitution.
It would be more correct to say it began when BOTH parties abrogated the Constitution by swearing in an ineligible Kenyan from Indonesia.
It is really simple people wanting to buy more then the companies can produce.
Try to find primers.
Thank you. Point stands.
Primers are nonexistant but everyting else is avaiable.
That too, but I’m very far removed from reloading.
I bought a crate of .223 years ago when it was hard to find. I don’t have anything that shoots it, but I have some. Hopefully that’ll serve me well at some point.
Reloading isn’t hard. It requires a slow, deliberate and methodical approach. Definitely not for short attention span theater goers.
MAGA billionaires need to start special funds to provide ammo and training to lower-income folks.
