I would join a Trump initiated party In a heartbeat.

That would make it Americans versus everyone else.

Perfect.

Yes. That said, I don't think he should. I want to see him back in the White House and the surest way to do that is to make the GOP his own and boot out the worms in the party.

yes - but i’d expect he wouldn’t do so unless he could bring along a congressional contingent with him. without troops on the ground he would have little power.

I would give it serious consideration.
I would want to know where they stand on specific issues

I think you’d be crazy not to. We need an end to the two-sides-of-the-same-coin party system. We need actual parties representing real people. Honestly? I hope the loony lefties do the same thing and start another party or two on that side. I think this country would benefit from having 4 or 5 or 6 major political parties that actually catered to the interests and values of their constituencies.

There are two paths to take that I see. There are pros and cons to both. Both will take much of your time, effort and resources. There is no easy path. Both strategies will work, just get involved.

1) Become involved in the local Republican party. Note the word LOCAL/STATE. Many local leaders are discouraged and are looking for our help and support.

DO NOT CONFUSE THE LOCAL AND STATE REPUBLICAN ORANIZATION with the national issues. The media liars want us to look at the national situation and be discouraged. The battle line is local/state

2) Start a new party. Lot of work in this. Bitchers about republicans better put your money where your mouth is.

They seem to think they have permanent sinecures and the party funds are for them to host social gatherings.

“political sinecures for the supporters of ministers”

One of my younger gene pools loves this word and keeps it in a drawer in his desk to remind him that family members owning any corporation or business, never have to work!

They can get you promoted, demoted or fired!

I would join. The Cheney vote disgusted me completely. There are apparently only 61 republicans in congress who care about the people they represent.

I’ll follow Trump because he has shown us he cares more about us than himself.

I would follow Trump but I still think it's a bad idea.
  1. If you can't figure out how to fix the GOP, what makes you think the Patriot party or whatever you want to call it will be any better?
  2. You would have PINO's infesting it from day 1. And you'd have the same problem.
  3. Even if the majority or 80% follow Trump to the new party. That 20% we leave behind will still cost us elections, until they decide to shift too.
  4. We have been primarying GOPe whenever they get outed. And that's working. Sometimes we get another RINO just as bad. But sometimes we get a conservative. Stay the course.
  5. You had the majority of the GOP in the house stand up against the election. The GOP in the Senate is the problem. And the Turtle fought against us there.
  6. And even so, it appears that 45 out of 50 Senators voted the impeachment was unconstitutional. So Primary the 5. Primary the 11 GOP people in the house who voted to impeach. And we keep working until it's clean.

As long as that new party stressed adherence to the Constitution and maintaining and strengthening our freedoms - things that neither the Democrats or Republicans even talk about - then I would switch. It wouldn't be an easy road to hoe, but staying with the Republican party is foolish at this point - Cheney is proving that. We aren't being represented, we are being ruled.

They did not count my vote (I know, it never showed up in my searches). They said I was not registered at my poll ( though when I look online, I am registered there). I doubt anything matters anymore. Rudy etc screwed up & the uniparty cheated. Is the uniparty going to change course & behave better in the future?

I still think the more logical course is to change the existing republican party. Trump may not have taken that as seriously as he should have during the past four years, but historically it is near impossible for third parties to have an impact, beyond spoiler.

I would really like to hear reasoned arguments against it- I can’t think of any that hold water.

——————————————————————

This lame argument has been hashed and rehashed here at Free Republic for weeks.

People who are for this new party have no sense of history. None

Google Bull Moose Party for a clue.

Depends. What would the vetting process be for the new parties candidates?
Personally, I am NEVER voting for ANYONE who hasn’t worked in the private sector longer than they have been in public office. No political science majors or shyster Lawyers.
Did care if they talk like a conservative or pro Trump..if they don’t have a provable history.

I’d absolutely join Trump. That said, it’s far better that we keep the Republican Party and the Liz Cheneys of the world can leave.
