PING!
It’s been decades since I got a tax refund, so I have no idea.
I filed on the first day electronically and had my tax refund direct deposit in a week.
Nope, my refund is still “being processed.” Has been since April 4th.
Yes,within 2 weeks of filing.
.
no refund for me. They cashed my check plenty quickly, though.
I haven’t gotten a refund in 20 years. I make damned sure I always owe them at the end of the year.
First I’ve heard of this being a problem. I got my refund about 10 days after filing as usual.
Yup. Back in February. I filed early since I got a little bit back, simply a quirk of withholding. I try to get as close to zero as possible, but it doesn't always work.
This delay is a STUNT by the IRS. They want MORE employees to GROW THEIR PISTOL-CARRYING ARMY!
CW2 is already in the beginning stages.
When they start arresting people without due-process is when it will get REALLY interesting.
A time traveler from the year 2036 said so. (ok that part was a joke, but its starting to sound exactly like he predicted in the year 2000).
The federal government solved that problem for me by not giving me a refund.
IRS in chaos: Nearly 35 million tax returns are STILL unprocessed and just 3% of phone calls are being answered as Americans try for months to get through to a human on the other end
My Husband passed away and I filed “jointly” because he had received a small amount after his death. My return was returned quickly and needed to be refiled because they had already cancelled his SS #. I’ve heard nothing since refiling.
Still waiting!
I got mine back in early April.
My daughter had to call and ask where hers was and she was told due to COVID, they are very far behind. It has been five months since this was submitted. They said to give it another 30 days and to call back if she has not received it.
Also, child tax credit is still “pending” and she asked about that status and they said that is another department.
Who wants to be on hold for at least a few hours just to find out the answer, if any?
Last year I filed an amended return for tax year 2018. A sizable chunk because I reported as income funds that taxes were already paid on. A mistake. It’s been a year and the IRS site reports not yet processed.
Helped my brother with his, and his refund finally came around the 4th of July. I think the return was sent around the first of March.
I think that the IRS people are quite busy with all the Covid stimulus payments (because, for 3 payments, they could not just process all 3 the same way??) and then they are also being charged with the important job of sending out cash payments to everyone with kids, at $300-$350 per kid per month, starting this month. So that is probably taking priority over squaring up with TAXPAYERS.
I got my 2019 and 2020 refund about two weeks after filing electronically (thank you H&R Block). Guess I’m blessed.
