Mask mandates in America didn’t start with the coronavirus pandemic. During the Spanish flu of 1918, government officials ordered similar edicts, their media and nonprofit lackeys shamed the resistant, and health agents in some cases went to fatal extremes to punish the noncompliant, Fox News’s Tucker Carlson reported Monday during his monologue.
At the height of the worst pandemic in American history – the Spanish flu of 1918 – cities across the country did something, modern America would find familiar. They issued mandatory mask mandates and punished anyone who didn't comply. "The man or woman or child who will not wear a mask now is a dangerous slacker," read a typical announcement from the Red Cross.
The city of San Francisco, took the rules so seriously that a city health agent shot a man who refused to wear a mask – he hit the two bystanders who happened to be standing behind the man. That seemed a bit much to some people, but many others went along with it. They were afraid of the virus. They wanted to do their part to stop it. Most of all, they trusted their leaders. If their leaders put a mandate in place, they assumed it was for a good reason and they wanted to help. (Fox News)
But then something happened that shook the American public from their blind obedience. A photograph surfaced from a boxing match in San Francisco. Among those attending were several high-ranking public officials—all unmasked.
“The photograph went national. Americans were shocked to discover that the people making and enforcing the rules had no intention of following those rules,” Carlson said. “Mask mandates across the country ended shortly after. The public was willing to endure inconvenience, but not hypocrisy.”

two glaring differences:
1)they did NOT quarantine the whole country, just the sick
2)in the end there was a REAL vaccine produced, not an attenuator like they are pushing today
We have the current photograph of Pelosi and the DNCC fundraiser at her winery or somewhere in CA— all the people sitting at the tables are UNMASKED (again, regardless whether they are all guaranteed vaccinated— which makes these people in reality as vaccinated super spreader of not fully immunized a re-infectable targets) ... They are all unmasked while being served by what appear to be Mexican/American and others as the table servers, and ALL of these are MASKED.
Not one of the DNCC is masked. Case closed this is the PHOTO. if we can have a FReeper post it- make it uh... viral!
Prager noted yesterday that this is more than just hypocrisy, it’s a clear indication that these people truly don’t believe what they demand of others.
My uncle (deceased) was one of the wealthiest men in the state o Louisiana; if he were still here he would have billboards with those pictures on them plastered all over Louisiana and the whole country.
“The Spanish flu epidemic tended to hit young adults more than children or old people.”
My aunt died from the Spanish flue when she was 18. My mother, who was four years younger along with younger siblings born before 1918 survived. And this occurred in South Dakota, which you would think would be somewhat isolated from the rest of the country.
Did anyone see the Pelosi garden party on the news networks?
Who was he?
Everything but the photo.
Guess I am being dense, do not see what the point of that pic is, other than a crowd at a boxing match?
Thought it was going to be of that early JBT that shot a mask refuser.

His name was Bob Thompson; he was best buds with Edwin Edwards.
FYI, to equal the impact of the Spanish Flu, we’ll have to have some 1.5 mil deaths by next spring. Minimum (based on minimum conservative estimates).
I agree. I was trying to be nice.
