I had not heard of that bit of TOS behind the scenes.

Spock,the best by far.
Bones,Scotty,Uhura,Checkov...and Yoeman Rand...were excellent.
Kirk was OK.
Sulu was horrible. And I believed that long before I learned he was a perv.
