Contra Costa County and two other Bay Area health jurisdictions—San Francisco County and the city of Berkeley—have mandated that restaurants ask customers for proof of vaccination if they wish to eat indoors.
The location was served with a notice of violation on Oct. 5, and subsequently fined $250 on Oct. 14 and $500 on Oct. 19, a spokesperson for Contra Costa County’s health department told SFGate, adding that the In-N-Out faced “repeated complaints from members of the public.”

In&Out should post a sign warning any and everybody that they are NOT using their staff as Mask Police.
Therefore, if you are not comfortable with that fact, please do use our Drive-Thru line, where you will be met by a Masked staff member, ready to take your orders.

If Biden and Fauci want every American PRIVATE business to act as their enforcement tool on PRIVATE property, where PRIVATE citizens are conducting business, said government needs to hire more folks and do it themselves.
It is not the job of a In-and-Out Burgers cooks, cashiers, cleaning personnel, to act as unpaid, unofficial, deputized agents (but then be held accountable for the consequences) of the US government enforcing an executive order (not law).
This is what happens when you have government with the power to regulate everything. You get a President that uses these powers like Biden is today.

The San Francisco government is telling a private company to assert powers reserved for law enforcement. So...when an illegal alien doesn’t show proper paperwork, companies in San Francisco are to arrest and deport them?
Apparently, from the article, this was mandated by the Contra Costa County health district. The fines are coming from the county, not the Feds.
Interesting point. If In-N-Out started asking to see citizenship papers, what would San Francisco say about that?
They should leave the state. Riots would ensue if In and Out left CA. I ate at their easternmost store (at the time) in Grapevine, TX. Kids LOVED it.
