'Flash mob' robberies roiling U.S. retailers, traumatizing workers

California Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom said this week that shoplifters should be prosecuted and vowed to "significantly increase . . . efforts to go after these retail rings." He also said he would ramp up police presence along highways and retail corridors. And though the state typically classifies thefts under $950 as misdemeanors instead of felonies, Newsom urged local law enforcement officials to be more forceful in going after organized retail crime.

Bear with me on this. I took the liberty in spotlighting someone who represents, imo, a major part of the problem. It's the leniency of politicians like Newsom which is ultimately responsible for the descent into barbarism we are witnessing. This organized looting is similar to a problem our forefathers had at one time. It was called piracy and they hung pirates.

Look Newsome... the law is the law and you have no right to go after looters and flash mobs who each take less than $950.

Deal with that.

or maybe you could call an emergency sesssion and get the law changed.

Why don’t you try that?

They have figured out organized looting. They don’t have to destroy everything anymore, to get new stuff. They can just hit a few stores and they will restock and hit them again.

True. Many FReepers recognized how devastating this was going to be. If ten people a day shoplift 900 dollars from a store, the loss in 9,000 dollars. If they do that for ten days it is 90,000 dollars! There aren’t ANY businesses which can sustain losses like that.

It’s called Third Worldization! It’s the utter breakdown of the law, and the ability of the rich within such a feudal society to find ways to avoid the violent chaos.

Neistat was right in identifying a pandemic of crime in Los Angeles as Third Worldization. In a recent online exchange, YouTuber, Casey Neistat vented his anger after his car was broken into and the contents stolen. Los Angeles, he railed, was turning into a “3rd world s***hole of a city.”

The predictable role of the smug, indifferent Third World rich, who master ignoring – and navigating around – the misery of others in their midst.

In a medieval-type society of two rather than three classes, the rich in walled estates rarely worry that much about thievery. Crime is written off as an intramural problem of the poor, especially when the middle class is in decline or nonexistent.

Such impoverishment pales in comparison to the encampments of present-day Fresno, Los Angeles, Sacramento, or San Francisco. Tens of thousands live on sidewalks and in open view use them to defecate, urinate, inject drugs, and dispose of refuse.

Violent crime is now soaring in America. But two things are different about America’s new criminality.

• One is the virtual impunity of it. Thieves now brazenly swarm a store, ransack, steal, and flee with the merchandise without worry of arrest.

• • Second, the Left often justifies crime as a sort of righteous payback against a supposedly exploitative system.

So, the architect of the so-called 1619 Project, Nikole Hannah-Jones, preened of the riotous destruction of property during the summer of 2020: “Destroying property, which can be replaced, is not violence.”

Third Worldization reflects the asymmetry of law enforcement. Ideology and money, not the law, adjudicate who gets arrested and tried, and who does not.

The above statememnts excerpted from: Victor Davis Hanson’s: “Third-Worldizing America
Nation & State” ^ | 12-4-2021 | Victor Davis Hanson

So, Forget It, Jakes/Janes! Relax! It’s Now, Not Your Town!

Even, If you didn’t vote for this, it doesn’t matter! Your vote has not counted nor been counted for decades, if ever.

What happened is that the left duped the people into voting for this. This was proposition 47 passed in 2014. Here is the root of the problem: "The initiative reduced the classification of most nonviolent property and drug crimes—including theft and fraud for amounts up to $950—from a felony to a misdemeanor."

California Proposition 47, Reduced Penalties for Some Crimes Initiative (2014

The problem as I understand it, is that in order to change this back, another initiative would have to be put before the voters. Fat chance the Democrats would do that.

How? The criminals arrested are back out on the street before the arrest reports are even made out. If Newsom is serious about this other than deflecting blame from his own government (he isn't), then he'll (1) change the law, and (2) prosecute and jail the violators. I'm sure nobody could have thought of that one...

The best thing to happen to America would be if we grant California independence. We would make them a real in exchange for keeping San Diego, we need that as an important naval port. Then we need to build a wall around California with stringent border controls.

See my post #16. If Newsom is serious about this he will quickly authorize an anti crime initiative to change the law back to where it was prior to 2014 when that stupid initiative was passed by the voters.
