I still remember when a Superhero movie would be given a “B” budget, filmed in black and white, chintzy special effects, and shown on the bottom half of a double feature drive-in bill with Hercules and THE WOMEN FROM MARS.

Now it is top billing, great color with top CGI special effects.
Our youth today truly live in an age of fantasy.

I just checked to see what is playing at our local multiplex theater. Fantasy films on all screens.

The Superman movies were lousy, but big budget and big grossing. The Batman movies were better and had bigger budgets and bigger grosses. DC and Marvel movies may suck, but I think they always (barring the occasional dud) had big built audiences.
