I am not sure who told Chevrolet that what we really needed this Christmas was to ugly cry over an ad they produced for the holidays, but whoever it was needs to go sit in the corner and think about what they’ve done. You may have seen the shortened version of this ad, titled “Holiday Ride,” on TV. But you don’t get the full emotional impact without seeing the extended four-minute version, which is a tear-jerker and hit me harder than listening to my child ask me why Mufasa wasn’t waking up.

My wife was all giddy until I informed her a barn find 1970 Impala sent to a shop to be modestly restored would run about $25,000 and take six months. Earl Scheib don’t do that for $99.95 these days.

Is that a Chevy commercial? That’s the problem with arty commercials. Yeah it tells a pretty good story in a short time, but it doesn’t actually sell anything. I didn’t even realize what brand of car it was.
Another thing that will make liberal heads explode is the community is very diverse. A white guy, black guy, Hispanic guy all working together in a small town in flyover country. Friends and neighbors coming together to help a friend. Something most of us see and do regularly. But they don’t live in such a world and can’t understand it.
I used to have a ‘66 MGB. It made me cry damn near every day.
