On the morning of January 1st, 2022, Palestinian Arab terrorists in the Gaza Strip ushered in the new year with a barrage of rockets aimed at Tel Aviv and other Israeli cities. The Israeli Air Force and IDF artillery teams responded with pin-point precision retaliatory strikes against rocket-launching positions.
Hamas, the terrorist organization controlling the Gaza Strip, claimed that it was recent mildly bad weather, namely a drizzling rain storm, that — somehow, inexplicably — launched the rockets, not human militants.
In reality, the Israel Defense Force has claimed that members of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, a terrorist organization allied with and “sub-contracted” by Hamas, fired the deadly weapons.
This is a political tactic that has been used by Hamas for decades, and for as long as I have served in the Israel Defense Force — since 2007. In a vain and rather ridiculous attempt to avoid liability, Hamas sponsors, funds, and delegates “contracted” terrorist allies, especially the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) to do their dirty work. Then Hamas claims that they never attacked Israel or did anything violent, and therefore Israel somehow has no right to defend itself.
At any rate, the Israel Defense Force and relevant Israeli government officials were less than impressed with Hamas’ excuses. As one spokesperson said, calling out Hamas on their bluff, that if Hamas rockets cannot be controlled or maintained and they randomly launch themselves at Israeli civilian targets “by unintentional accident” due to bad weather, then clearly Hamas needs to demilitarize itself and remove all rockets from the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli government has emphasized that they will not tolerate further escalation from the Gaza Strip. But we here in Israel are left wondering what that actually means in light of political complexities on the ground, especially relating to the fabric of the Lapid-Bennett coalition. Such being the case, it is uncertain what the upcoming year of 2022 has in store as Hamas and their Iranian sponsors rattle their Islamic sabres against the only Jewish State in the world. But as a reservist serving in a special forces unit in the Israel Defense Force, I will be sure to keep you posted.
Sounds like they’re using AOC’s publicist.
Israelis should retort “good weather Launched a mzssive counter attack, not us”
More global climate crisis damage.
And Alec Baldwin didn’t pull the trigger either!
It’s an interesting turn if Hamas is denying their acts of terror. Doesn’t that sort of defeat their purpose? Are they losing their nerve?

Speaking of which those "pin-point precision retaliatory strikes" blew up a lot of empty sand as per usual with the Israelis. No Palis harmed
“Hamas, the terrorist organization controlling the Gaza Strip, claimed that it was recent mildly bad weather, namely a drizzling rain storm, that — somehow, inexplicably — launched the rockets, not human militants. “
Probably all that The Squad needs to hear to blame Israel.
They shot the missiles on purpose as it is harder to track locations in bad weather, especially if you are using a CAP for return fire. Bad weather is a usual time for an enemy to attack you.
As an example, Baghdad in winter when it rains and it gets cold enough for fog to come off the river. The locals would use the cover to fire mortars from the middle of the city and indirect rifle and machine gun fire into the mil compounds from near by dwellings. The usual return fire is stymied as not you don’t want to shoot the wrong apartment or house. I assume a counter mortar battery would work fine as the radar works/sees in bad weather.
Truck mounted systems. Point in right direction, Fire, and drive like the dickens.
No harm to us, no foul. /sarc
and they just happened to be aimed at Israel...
“The bombs were stored in a hangar and when the winds whipped up it blew the hangar down, picked up quite a few of the bombs and blew them all the way to the Gaza strip!”
Are they running out of children to hide behind so now they have to hide behind raindrops?
lol- strong winds :)
