I'm guessing that the ‘Freeze-Mageddon’ is related to the ‘Bombogenesis’.

Gack! Can’t everybody everywhere agree once and for all to stop using “XXX-Ageddon”? It is years, nay, decades, past its expiration date.

At the same time, retire “XXX-Gate,” too.

They are strong indicators of weak minds.

Frost line has been moving further south in Florida. In the 1890's they grew oranges in northern florida, several freezes in a row forced growers further south.

In what appears to be a citrus shortage developing, frozen orange juice futures have risen nearly 40% since the beginning of November.

Cue Trading Places memes..

Funny i rode my bike to work one morning in philly. it was 7 degrees. It hasn’t been that cold in about 10 years. The face mask i used almost asphyxiated me. Next day i drove to work. but it was much warmer.

Well, if Florida gets a record freeze this year, destroying their orange crop, I will BLAME DeSantis for it, as he didn’t force the farmers to put in heating systems. So, I’ll vote against him in the Primary.

There is a citrus Armageddon down here. Not the freeze, however. It’s called “greening”. In 20 years there won’t be much citrus left if it’s not fixed.

https://agrilifetoday.tamu.edu/2021/11/30/new-research-takes-aim-at-devastating-citrus-greening/

I suspect like many diseases we humans have, somebody knows the cure but… man, the funding they get to research it….

I assume citrus growers plant extras to allow for the freeze that hits them almost every year. And though I’ve seen the scare articles show up each time, I’ve never seen a shortage of oranges OR orange juice. Nonetheless, LORD have mercy on Florida citrus growers.

What if most of Florida was to go below zero this weekend and what if Miami got hit with two feet of snow?

Would that cause problems?
