I was slightly shocked to see that Russian oil imports were zero when Trump came into office in 2017.
But, Russia oil imports were more than 150,000 barrels per day for five of Trump's last six quarters.

We were energy independent under Trump but that doesn’t mean we we weren’t still importing oil and gas. We were just shipping more than we imported.
At least that is how I understand it.
But I’m curious if anyone knows if Trump was still buying Russian oil and gas. Somehow I think he was. It would be nice to know that he had cut them off if that is the case.
