It was obviously a tough pill -- or shall we say nut -- for Joe Scarborough to swallow. On Wednesday's Morning Joe, the Trump hater par excellence grudgingly admitted that as president, Donald Trump got it right when he chided Angela Merkel over Germany's dependence on Russian oil.
Although Scarborough spoke of "oil," Trump's key concern was Merkel's agreeing to the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, bringing Russian gas, not oil. Here's a 2018 Reuters article quoting Trump saying the gas pipeline deal made Germany "a captive to Russia.

Seems Trump was right about lots of things.. I remember at one of his rallies he said we got them all. And one day he would tell us who all is..
But that is a judgement about politics and electability, which I care about because I'm a Republican who wants to see us win the Presidency. Where the left and Never Trump crowd go completely off the rails is confusing comments/behaviors that arguably impact domestic politics/electability with the real word impact of those comments.
Trump's occasionally friendly language towards Kim Jong Un and Putin cost us nothing. It was simply Trump's attempt to see if a different verbal tone might be more successful. There was absolutely nothing wrong with trying that, so to for Joey S. to castigate Trump for things he said about Putin that didn't damage our interests at all is simply ridiculous.
What really mattered was the policies Trump supported and actions he took, and in that regard, he pushed U.S. interests v. Russia much harder than Obama ever did.
Nah, he knew all along he just wasn’t gonna say anything until the stealing of the last presidential election was complete.

Seriously? Nobody has ever been able to explain to you how some of Trump's language or behavior hurts him politically? Either you haven't been asking, or you haven't been listening, and it is obvious.
I personally know people who voted against Trumps simply because they believed he was unnecessarily coarse and overly confrontational in his language. Those are lost votes. The majority of those, but not all, were independent or Republican-leaning women. My stepdaughter and her husband, both millenials, expressly said they liked his policies but couldn't stand the stuff he said sometimes. Couldn't be persuaded otherwise. And unless I am to believe they were unique...that's a loss.
Now, you may call them idiots, or say their reasoning doesn't make sense to you, but that's not the point. The point is that idiots and people whose reasoning doesn't make sense to you still vote, and their vote counts just as much as yours does.

Dave Rubin aired a segment a day or two ago showing President Trump speaking at the UN saying it was foolish for the Europeans to make themselves so dependent on a single source ie Russia, for so much of their energy.
Then the camera panned to the German delegation who were all smiling and laughing as he spoke with the usual smugness they have.
As Nigel Farage said: “well, you’re not laughing now are you?”
