The Russian Ministry of Defense released a video early Saturday that it claimed showed a Kinzhal hypersonic air-launched ballistic missile hitting a Ukrainian missile warehouse about 300 miles southwest of Kyiv. The strike, if it did occur, would represent both the first known use of the Kinzhal in combat and yet another Russian attack on facilities in western Ukraine near the country's borders with multiple NATO members...
UPDATE: 5:20 PM EST—
We can now say for certain that the strike depicted happened nowhere near the western part of the country and not at some major military weapons storage area. It happened at a heavily bombarded rural area in the far eastern area of Ukraine:
In satellite imagery The War Zone obtained from Planet Labs, you can clearly see the farm featured in the video. It was partially destroyed by the time the image was taken, on March 12th, 2022, a week before this video was released and news of Kinzhal's use was distributed:
This also answers our question as to the UAV's presence above the target area. The anti-air threat is nothing in Ukraine's east as it is in the west. This also calls into question, even more, why a missile of Kinzhal's nature would be used on a target close to Russian territory and on what appears to be a farm's barn or large chicken coup.
With all this in mind, it is very unlikely we are seeing a Kinzhal missile being used in the video. Whether or not one was used at all, we cannot answer that. Maybe there was another target somewhere, but this was not it.

The video of the claimed hypersonic missile strike by Russia on an ammunition depot in Western Ukraine:
You can see that the location Russia claimed it hit in Western Ukraine was actually a farm in Eastern Ukraine hit earlier in the war by comparing the satellite photo with the Russian video.
H’mm.
Not one person was held accountable for war crimes against Serbian civilians, partic Grdelica train massacre. Cover up included speeding up the released targetting footage to make it look more like pilot who released the missile had no time to abort. Cluntoon belongs in prison
I’ve seen videos of Russian aircraft with the aircraft numbers backwards since the film was doctored. Based on their defense budget, I doubt Russia has any hypersonic missiles.
There's questionable information everywhere (probably better off doubting everything). I especially liked the thread about "former Miss Ukraine Anastasiia Lenna" heading to the front lines to kill Ruskies, wearing lipstick & carrying an airsoft 'rifle'...
;>)
Impossible!
I have it on good authority from several FReepers that only the war mongering decadent West is faking photos & videos, to smear that great Christian leader of Russia, Vlad The Great!
Yeah, and the Ghost of Kiev was providing air cover for her.
That poster’s not correct. The US alone bombed Serbia, not NATO.
Ghost of Kiev sounds like a great Charlie Brown Halloween costume.😉
If that was munition and missile storage...
Where are the secondary explosions???
“Yeah, and the Ghost of Kiev was providing air cover for her.”

Well somebody had to stop Putin from firebombing all the veterinary kitten hospitals and the orphanages housing all the innocent black transgender quadriplegic children with Tourettes!

Not true. The Nato codename was Operation Allied Force. Assorted Nato countries flew air sorties. Estimated the Canadians dropped 10% of the munitions. A stain on Nato.
Your user name is Asian. Perhaps change to My Lai as a sign of contrition
Look! Squirrel!
You did call BS in the other thread. In the video in that one, the speed looked like same as a harm, not 5x.
