NATO Plans Massive Military Buildup On Russia’s Border, Citing Major “Reset

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization is in the middle of a “fundamental transformation” and planning a massive military buildup along Russian borders. The Telegraph reported, “Nato is drawing up plans to deploy a permanent full-scale military force on its border in an effort to combat future Russian aggression following the invasion of Ukraine, the alliance’s secretary general has revealed.”

Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said NATO will undergo a major “reset” and plans to put enough troops in states that border Russia to repel an invasion. The alliance currently has 40,000 troops in eastern member states.

NATO considers its forces in Eastern Europe a deterrent against Russia but insufficient to actually stop incoming forces. The “tripwire” policy believes Moscow would be unwilling to kill American soldiers and provoke a larger war. Stoltenberg did not say how many troops would be needed in states like Latvia and Estonia to fight off a Russian invasion.

The alliance recently announced the creation of four new battlegroups of about 1,500 troops each to be deployed to Eastern European states. NATO will have a battlegroup that stretches from the Baltic Sea to the Black Sea:

Battlegroups typically are made up of 1,000-1,500 soldiers. The trans-Atlantic alliance currently has similar deployments in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Poland.

Stoltenberg described in March the new security situation in Eastern Europe, “Along with our existing forces in the Baltic countries and Poland, this means that we will have eight multinational NATO battlegroups all along the eastern flank, from the Baltic to the Black Sea.” The alliance also has 140 warships at sea and 130 aircraft on high alert.

Stoltenberg said the change in policy is a response to the invasion of Ukraine and will claim the buildup is defensive. Moscow is unlikely to share that interpretation. Russia demanded a withdrawal of NATO forces from Eastern Europe in the December security proposal.

Since the 1990s, NATO has expanded and moved forces into former Soviet states. Moscow has consistently said the alliance’s eastward expansion is a threat and is part of the reason President Vladimir Putin elected to launch a “special military operation” in Ukraine.

Putin demands NATO troops off his border.

Invades Ukraine resulting in more troops on his border.

Putin the genius is kinda like Hitler the genius, a colossal failure of leadership, strategy and military planning.

Well, since Ukraine is not a Nato nation, these big troop buildups are really just temporary and no real threat to Putin. At least, that is the way I would see it if I were him.

And if they do actually attack, all bets are off for world peace in general. Get yourself a good bomb shelter - or cyanide pills.

Stoltenberg said the change in policy is a response to the invasion of Ukraine and will claim the buildup is defensive.

The big lie is that NATO is a defensive alliance. Its bombed Serbia, Bosnia, Libya, expanded from 12 to 30 states. Its the umbrella under which George Soros and his globalist ilk conduct color revolution across Europe and the mid-east. And you get to pay for it.

Hungary is on the verge of leaving the EU over its interference in that country’s internal affairs, such as punishing them for voting for the wrong guy 2 weeks ago, and not supporting the Grooming of their children, or population replacement. Once out of the EU, their participation in NATO comes into question, especially considering that they’re also not supporting the NATO effort to get WW3 started.

I wouldn’t be surprised if similar things happen in other countries, once Ukraine is properly divided up and tempers settle down (and the Greens do their job to get Europe again addicted to Russian energy sources).

Would anyone really miss Orban, the young communist who learned from an early age about obedience to his Russian masters? Unlike the Warsaw Pact, which mostly invaded its members at Moscow’s command, membership in the EU and NATO is purely voluntary. Perhaps Hungary’s natural role is as a Russian oblast.

Substitute Frau Merkel’s name in there and you could ask the same question, as the sanctimonious Germans continue to fund the Russian war machine.

As for Hungary, what they do is up to the Hungarians. They just re-elected Mr Orban solidly. I admire the fence he built.

It’s obvious that Mutti Merkel’s obedience training at Russia’s hands did not take as well as Orban’s, as Orban moves to make Hungary an oblast in all but name. Whereas Germany’s chancellor is at least providing aid to Ukraine while dialling down its consumption of Russian gas that Hungary also gets. Hungary won’t even let weapons for Ukraine through its territory, as befitting a Russian oblast. Orban’s one on one meetings with Putin clearly helped his personal balance sheet. Orban is just another Russian oligarch.

Someone please explain to me WTF we are still doing in NATO, and why NATO simultaneously readys for war with Russia while buying their fossil fuels...in massive amounts.

The west is being led by insane, vapid, moronic people with an agenda.

We need to get out of NATO. I’ll support any candidate who runs on that.

“Someone please explain to me WTF we are still doing in NATO”

The giant revolving money wheel.

Defense contractors lobby congress, give campaign contributions, hire their families.

Congress votes for more money for defense contractors.

Generals beat the war drums, lobby congress to buy more weapons. Defense contractors hire generals for their boards.

Generals and politicians find an excuse to launch attacks. Weapons get depleted.

Rinse, repeat.

It’s worse than the vaccine scam. And much more lucrative.

Rinse, repeat, screw us taxpayers.
