Well-known Hollywood Dr. Mehmet Oz, who is running for a Pennsylvania Senate seat, has come under fire in a number of Republican and conservative circles for his seemingly long and documented history with communist China, even though he’s running a “tough-on-China” campaign.
According to Breitbart, Dr. Oz has ironically launched attacks on his GOP challenger, David McCormick, for his alleged China ties, while at the same time the doctor’s opponents dig up a growing history he allegedly has with China.
As with any backstory of a potential political scandal, it’s all about the money.
Breibart noted: “The celebrity doctor’s most recent connection to China was a partnership with ‘Utah-based Malouf Companies that used his name and identity on numerous sleep products that were made in China,’ which netted Oz between $1 million and $5 million last year, according to a report by Politico Playbook.”
Politico did a deep dive into the “Dr. Oz Good Life” situation, showing that the celebrity doctor has done quite well for himself by allowing his name and likeness to be used to market various sleep products in China.
“A person close to the Oz campaign said that only small portions of the sleep products that couldn’t be manufactured in the U.S. or elsewhere were made in China,” Politico noted.
Brittany Yanick, a spokesperson for Dr. Oz, deflected a reporter’s question about the doctor’s ties to China and Chinese-made products, instead slamming his opponent, Mr. McCormick.
“David McCormick is Beijing’s favorite candidate, having raised billions in China to support the CCP and celebrated shipping PA jobs overseas,” Yanick said.

Hillary made the same fuss in 2016 about Trump selling clothes at Macy’s made in China. Breitbart and Mark Levin ran with this. Funny how Breitbart attacks Oz every couple days but they don’t run articles attacking Dave McCormick. A company “used Oz’s name and identity on numerous sleep products that were made in China” is not the same thing as shaking hands and being in direct business with the CCP like McCormick does.
That's Trump too. And we love Trump, too. At least most of us.
Lots of Swamp Snakes in PENNSYLVANIA pushing BIGOTED LIES about @DrOz. Especially MCCormick and New wife "Dina")-they say Oz's friendship with Oprah is a Problem. Look at what TRUMP said about Oprah in 2015. It's OK to be friends w/people u disagree with! https://t.co/rRzkJRyZHU— Greg Kelly (@gregkellyusa) April 14, 2022
Which is probably why he is being endorsed. Who thinks we are all just being played...by everyone?
Greg Kelly can pound sand, just another NYer.
Trump’s greatest weakness is choices with respect to personnel.
Also, I voted for Trump twice but I don’t “love him”.
The cult of personality is for Democrats.
Feelings mean nothing, the world is filled with outcomes.
Close down Walmart like that left dreams of.
The Senators from Pennsylvania do not affect Florida? It is as much my “business” as it is yours. And I did not say that you should support or vote for Oz or Trump either. It is disappointing that your are offended by my opinions and observations.
Maybe, but I am for Barnette, with Bartos a close second. I saw them all at the Pa. Leadership Conference, with all the others, sans McCormack.
The only problem I have with Carla is that she was programmed and repetitive, not that she isn’t a fellow soldier for conservatism.
Barnette is at 18% now, and if she polls the best of candidates not named Mehmet or David, she has my vote.
I’m not offended by your opinion, I just think it’s foolish.
I should support Oz because Trump said so?
Trump’s personnel choices are his worst failure.
Sure seems to be true, sadly.
I’m no Oz fan but a celebrity allowing themselves to be used for a marketing campaign for products made in China is quite a distance from the China connection McCormick had while CEO of Bridgewater.
That, and his signing those insane spending bills.
He’s certainly not a fiscal conservative.
I think we’re hosed either way.
Demographics is destiny.
Besids being a liberal stooge now he’s in bed with China.
Has Trump triple downed on this political endorsement yet?
It is clear to me now. Trump endorsed Oz, so therefore we should utterly destroy Oz, Trump, and the MAGA movement to cleanse [something] from this great and unforgivable sin.
Oz’s opponent is a Bushie, and as we all know, a Bushie is what is needed to set this nation right.
The stupidity of the hissy-fit among some concerning the Oz endorsement by Trump is beyond human comprehension. They will not let it go.
Made money from Chinese manufacturing? If that is an issue with anyone, then that particular anyone is a hypocrite unless he refuses to buy anything because everything mostly, these days, is made in China.
I haven’t seen Oz since the early beginning of the covid epidemic, and back then he was pushing early treatment, not the vaccine.
I just wouldn’t want him (Oz) to become another Romney. I look at Romney potential. He seems like an easy going media product right now. What’s he going to be like if he gets a little power?
I think he’ll probably win and be similar to a Romney.
PA is a swing state, so I think he’ll pander in multiple directions.
I’d love to be wrong on this though.
That was my thought as well. Fact is, China came in and took the American market away from us, and we let them do it. At least Trump recognized it and tried to highlight “Buy American First”, and was ridiculed for it. Oz was like anyone else trying to make a buck - buy the cheapest crap available and resell it to an American base. I trust Trump’s judgement on this one, as I know nothing of the candidate or his viability.
I look it as Trump trying to make the best from what material is available.
Kathy Barnette.
Not sure if Trump should have endorsed him. We will see. There is a lot of time between now and November. If the dems have plans we will find out. Or they will simply lay low and try to steal it. Anyone think something is going to happen right before the election to allow mail in ballots. Or will the states illegally change the rules again like before. In some states they did it and the legislation did nothing about it. Once that was proven the election should have been no good. Am I wrong.
