It would be different if it was totally destroyed, but it will be removed.

Most time now they use Vactor trucks to suck it off the ground.

That’s a tiny amount of fertilizer.

I used to make it.

Nope. They didn’t get to it before the 5 second rule. You know how that is.

Honestly several tons is not a lot. I get a ton every quarter from my co-op. I trailer it home behind an F-150

Interestingly enough, Bob and Doug McKenzie just made the exact same comment about the derailing.

Wouldn't it be useful even if it's no longer pure?
I'd think many farmers would take it for a reduced price.
Or was it destined for additional processing?

Watching the video, there were a bunch of cars. This would have been way, way more than “several tons” that spilled. Of course, cleanup and retransport will take some time, delaying (and possibly hurting?) application to the crops.

[Eddie Willers] stepped to the front of the engine and looked up at the letters TT. Then he collapsed across the rail and lay sobbing at the foot of the engine, with the beam of a motionless headlight above him going off into a limitless night.

“Wouldn’t it be useful even if it’s no longer pure?”

Not if you’re growing the food in a clean room. Of course, some people just grow their food in dirt. Disgusting, I know, but there you go.

Several tons, like half a dozen 4’x4’ piles of gravel?

It’s still useful. Farmers put it on the ground do a little dirt ain’t gonna hurt it but if it rains before it can be retrieved....

I figured those who really need pure potash will have to wait for the next shipment.
