The US will be remembered in history as the country that was most successful with military invasions but did not know how to conquer effectively. The Romans and Mongols could do both.
I do not know if Jack’s summary of what is happening there is correct or not. However, he generally has a pretty good track record and seems to have good sources. He has broken many stories and is usually ahead of the news curve on stuff like this.
It would not surprise me that Iran has taken over much of the national police in Iraq as well as the military because the Iraqi’s who are Shia (about 60% I believe) are aligned with Iran. Iran has stated their desire to drive us from Iraq and the Middle East and our footprint in Iraq is very small - theirs has been growing for years.

There is a helicopter landing zone right on the Embassy compound. Helicopters typically go in and out of there several times a day.
