This is thought provoking.
Correct in every assessment and sad and terrifying as a result because it’s obvious the kleptocrats are so consumed by greed and arrogance that they have no intention of reversing course.
Parasites never think they are killing their host.
Great article by John Di Leo - he should be working for a major conservative news outlet
Retail is the most cut-throat, back stabbing career anyone could experience.
Everyone is out to take someone else down to advance their career, by any means possible.
“but there is nothing that can protect a store from these mass theft events.”
Oh, but there is something that can protect them. It’s just that no one wants to say it out loud.

De Leo is right of course but his solution isn’t going to happen.
“But we need politicians and businesses to stop making it worse. We need them to change direction and start working on behalf of the American people again.”
Politicians don’t have the same goals as we do, and few work “on behalf of the American people”. Business goes where the largest legal profits are attainable, that’s how they stay in business and provide secure jobs with long-term employee benefits.
My wife and I love indoor malls.
They are climate controlled, so no matter how bad it is outside, it’s great there. There are fun foods and countless stores to visit.
It’s hard to understand why people want to drive to a bunch of separate stores across miles and have to handle the elements, rather than enjoy a good indoor mall.
The author hints at this, but leaves out one very important point; the reduction of middle-class jobs in the retail and supporting businesses, which has the effect of reducing the middle-class across the country.
[President Trump valiantly fought the trend, using tax and regulatory policies to try to draw manufacturing back to the United States… but he only had three years; with the usurpation of his office by China’s agents in Washington, the battle to restore American manufacturing has again stumbled.]
And that was one of the unpardonable sins. Going against the New World Order and the complicit destruction of American sovereignty.
But Americans were increasingly taking their values from the godless, from rap, from Hollywood movies, from TV and for idiotic social agendas.
Then one day, all that they once took for granted is virtually nowhere to be seen. They can’t figure out how it all happened. There were warned and they simply shrugged their shoulders.
And America was suddenly no longer America.
[This means we have ever fewer wallet-bearing shoppers to give business to the mall, but ever more people with WIC and SNAP cards to shop at the dollar store. This is not a prescription for economic growth.]
And then it became obvious one day: Some of the stores exist only to make money off the government benefits programs. Oh they’ll take in a few dollars from regular retail customers. But a substantial portion of their “cash flow” is in fact EBT/SNAP/WIC.
IOW, their revenue is drawn from the tax dollars of other working people. And increasing public debt.
How does this end? It ends as the Weimar Republic, for all intents and purposes.
I go out of my way to support local stores and buy things not made in China.
Why can't we use robots in retail stores. Clothes would cost 50% less if we used robots. Maybe 70% less.
