I would not purchase a new .22 unless the barrel was threaded for accessories.

I get the daily AmmoLand news in my email. I saw that your story about the near disaster on the way to the SHOT Show was in it today.

A 22LR shot from a rifle is supersonic so even with a suppressor you’ll get that distinctive crack sound. If the suppressor slows the bullet down below the speed of sound it will be pretty quiet.

Recoil: .22 caliber firearms have less recoil than larger caliber firearms, making it ideal for beginners and those who want to reduce recoil while shooting.Recoil with a .22? I started my grand daughter shooting at age 8 because there was NO recoil.
She is now the best shot in our family and almost an Olympic class shooter.

I still have my Glenfield Marlin Model 20 that I bought back in 1976 at the Sears in Colorado Springs.
She still shots like a champ.
I’ll be dead and gone and she’ll still be slugging out .22 LRs!

but a reverse paradox tube doubles or triples the effective range of these minuscule shotshells. Bloop tubes can extend the sight radius.Apparently, the author didn't feel the need to clue us in on "reverse paradox" or "bloop" tubes.

We have a set of Ruger 10-22 Takedowns, both with threaded barrels. They’re handy little trunk guns.

I purchased a USA made replacement barrel for my Ruger 10-22 with a threaded muzzle and faster twist barrel to accurately fire 60-grain subsonic Aguila SSS ammo. Works great.

The father passed at the age of 91.

A friend in grad school in the 1970s told me he made a silencer using a cardboard tube for a .22 rifle and shot an escaped monkey that was bothering the neighbors in Coconut Grove.
