Two Edmonton Police Services officers were attacked by surprise, then shot and killed as they responded to a domestic dispute early Thursday morning.

CBC News is reporting the gunman is only 16 years old. CBC sources said the boy also shot his mother in the same incident, leaving her fighting for her life.

Police Chief Dale McFee said Const. Travis Jordan, 35, and Const. Brett Ryan, 30, were approaching a suite after being called to a family dispute about 12:47 a.m.

McFee said the officers were suddenly fired upon before they had a chance to even draw their weapons.

The killer, described as a "young man" then committed suicide. A woman relative inside the suite, in the area of 114 Ave. and 132 St., was rushed to hospital in critical condition.

Fellow officers placed their wounded comrades in police cars and frantically tried to save their lives as they were being rushed to hospital, but they were pronounced dead on arrival.

At the same time as a morning press conference, EPS officers, paramedics and members of the fire department formed an honour escort to the medical examiner's office.

"This is an unthinkable and horrific tragedy," said McFee.

"Their lives and sacrifices will not be forgotten."

Jordan was an eight-year veteran of the EPS, Ryan a five and-a-half year veteran.

Alberta Premier Danielle Smith and Public Safety Minister Mike Ellis expressed their shock at the slayings.

"Today, the province mourns the loss of two police officers killed in the line of duty. On behalf of the Government of Alberta, we extend our deepest sympathies to the family, friends and colleagues of Const. Travis Jordan and Const. Brett Ryan."

A couple of observations: the Father was not mentioned. The mother was not named. The 16-year-old was not named to protect the little dead bastard’s rights I guess. No neighbor had anything to say or was not interviewed. The type of gun used in the murders, and how the boy got it and the ammo in such a gun controlled society?

Let me sum up your observations: 9th grade journalism. That explains the entire article.

Most criminals are products of parents’ drugs, drunkenness, promiscuity, adultery and bad choices made by parents. It’s been intensified for two generations. And most of the cases of mental illness are caused by drug abuse.

Of course I don’t know the details, but I can’t help but wonder if the shooter/family are native Canadians. I say this because we had a young officer gunned down in Ontario a few months ago, by a young native.

Canada is using the native mistreatment to drum up further division, much the same way Dems use the blacks. White evil men have ruined their lives, societies, etc. Say it often enough and you’ve got a lot of chips on a lot of shoulders, and nobody ever moves on from the past.

Unfortunately, according to this later article, the killer's mother is not expected to survive. Also in the article, it seems the killer shot a 55 year old employee at a Pizza Hut on Sunday morning, about 12:30 AM.

More than a few questions are raised. It seems obvious that the 'sperm donor' was not living with the 'family'. Another question is, how does a parent let their 16 year old kid out at 12:30AM on a Sunday morning? Another question is, how were the police unable to track the killer down, after the Sunday morning attack? Given our (Canaduh's) extremely strict gun laws, how was a 16 year old able to get a gun? The purchase of a handgun is absolutely 'verboten' in Canaduh and, one must be 18 to obtain a PAL (Possession and Acquisition License), allowing the purchase and ownership of a few types of long guns.

The article that I posted, referenced a woman in the 'suite' (the mother) was rushed to hospital in critical condition. Looking up Google maps of 132 St and 114 Ave, there are multiple older 3 storey apartments without balconies and no underground parking. Looks like low income apartments.

I suspect the killer was a gang banger who flipped out. Of course, Canadian law being what it is, we'll likely never hear anything more about the details.
