Our Constitution and the laws of this nation are nothing more than words on a page. They were written for a people who operated in good faith. There is no more good-faith to be had in progressive America. There are now two classes of Americans. You are either a progressive ideologue operating above the law, or you are a person below the protections of the law and the Constitution,
District Attorney Alvin Bragg has led a grand jury to indict Donald Trump on 30 felony counts, seemingly all without any reasonable basis in the law. Bragg has, with his wholly political persecution of Donald Trump, led our nation across the Rubicon. The last time this literally happened, Rome fell into Civil War and the Roman Republic came to an end. The last time something of this magnitude metaphorically happened in colonial America, the Brits were marching to Concord with orders to arrest Samuel Adams and John Hancock for treason. How did that work out?
Bragg has done nothing so aggressive, but his version of the “crossing of the Rubicon” is no less momentous for it. We are no longer a Constitutional Republic; the rule of law is dead. Feel free to say in the comments what you think comes next, whether there is any possibility of resuscitating the rule of law, and if so, how? I do not see it happening without blood in the streets.

A week ago a video circulated of a lunatic harassing a family on a New York subway. He hurled racial slurs (the family was white) and threatened them. Alvin Bragg thinks that man should walk free and Donald Trump should go to jail for a fake misdemeanor. It’s despicable.

A hundred Rubicons have already been crossed. Spying on his campaign, the Head of the FBI releasing confidential notes, Political Prisoners, Coup Attempts President, wholesale spying on American, Suppression of the news, Promoting government version of cures only (killing hundred of thousands), Destroying the economy with lockdowns, stealing elections, the list is so exhausting it will never run out.

Based on media reporting of Bragg’s legally unique, novel approach to changing a state misdemeanor into at least one felony involving campaign finance laws (must be a huge problem in New York City), ....one has to give “hey, hey, hey it’s Fat Alvin!” a lot of credit for guts and determination. The GOP is so timid they are scared of their own shadows ... ask Mike Pence (and some on FR) who decided his role of VP was only ceremonial with regards to the electoral college.
You want to get rid of unequal justice? Then realize and start going after one’s political enemies with criminal indictments. To be “Constitutional purists” and not responding in kind “because just because the demonkraps are doing it and it is wrong doesn’t mean we shouldn’t do it....” is why we are in a very bad place, and will never get out of it.
It didn’t start with Trump either. I’ll leave Watergate aside as that will take too much explaining, but that was the beginning. Oh there were some smaller key political fish like Ray Donovan, Tom DeLay, Ted Stevens, James Traficante, and one might even throw Blagojevich (whom Trump pardoned!). My theory on Hastert was “people knew”, but b/c they actually promote grooming, abortion, etc ... they let him skate until it was time to take him out for political purposes.
My prediction with Trump .... they are going to be dragging this out in NY state court well into 2024.
Many of the sheeple have settled on a price and are bought off with all sorts or givernment benefits, including those with givernment jobs. In addition, many are also satisfied with their ignorance beause it requires them to do nothing ... the alternative is hard work.
But at the end of the day, you are right, it comes down to the presence of evil. A critical mass of people have turned away from God in their own personal lives; it reverberates through society and our institutions.
Alvin Bragg will be awarded and get his own TV show on CNN. He is a Hero of the left—only he managed to “Get Trump” . They will put up a statue in the park made when they teardown Trump Tower and everyplace linked to Hitler-Trump. He will be honored as the “True American” who ended the Trump/MAGA Nightmare forever. Yes, Bragg Park will be a landmark for the new New York they will build. He will be a hero in the future. Maybe mayor or even Governor (dare I say it, maybe President of the reformed USA where you vote by telephone!)
I keep thinking and saying that we are all waiting for “the first shot heard around the world”. In my heart I kinda hope something does happen but in my head I know that if it did, we would be in deep, deep trouble as a nation. I honestly think the Dems and RINOs hope something will happen so they can shut our country down again but with martial law this time. And if nothing happens then they will just demand we all sit down and shut up so they can continue doing just as they are doing now free of opposition.
I think every AG in every State should prosecute Alvin Bragg and his associate attorneys for election interference and civil rights violations. Extradite him and his attorneys to those respective States that do.
Maybe they can rename Fort Bragg in his honor.
