It's pretty weird when CNN provides a platform for someone to speak positiviely about a Republican candidate. But CNN This Morning gave its political commentator Scott Jennings an unfettered five minutes to sing the praises of Tim Scott. The Republican senator from South Carolina has announced that he will be creating a presidential exploratory committee—a prelude to formally throwing his hat into the ring.
With no pushback from the hosts, Jennings offered a wide array of upbeat comments about Scott. For example:
He's one of the most well-liked and beloved Republicans in the country. I mean, everywhere he speaks, everywhere he goes, people love what Tim Scott has to say and what he represents.
Jennings admitted Scott starts that race at about one percent, but "if you look at people who have just raw political and communication skills, he's going to have one of the highest and most developed skill sets in the race. So it does give him a chance to break out."
In what hopefully won't be the kiss of death, Don Lemon ended the segment by saying of him, "It's good that he's in there."

Tim Scott has no chance of getting the nomination so of course CNN wants to help prop him up.
It’s not uncommon. It’s anyone but Trump until Trump wins the nomination. They will gladly say nice things about non-threatening candidates, e.g., those that have no hope in hell to win the general election. DeSantis is a threat in the general so, nothing good will be said about him. If by some freak of nature someone is nominated other than Trump or DeSantis, CNN will attack him 24/7.

McCain and Mittens were the media's favorite Republicans. The media couldn't praise them enough ... until they got the Republican presidential nominations and suddenly they were racist, sexist, homophobes who wanted to lynch black people and force women to be barefoot and pregnant.
After they lost, they went back to being the media's favorite Republicans again.
The few CNN watchers I’m around every now and then try to get on my good side by mentioning a Republican that CNN spoke of favorably. I always tell them that in the 2000 primaries CNN highly touted Bush while dissing Keyes. LOL
