Used Electric Vehicle Prices Crashing As Fed Pushes Auto Loan Rates Above 7% (60M Auto Loan Rates Up 74.4% Under Bidenomics)

Yes, one of the cornerstones of Bidenomics is the massive expansion of (impractical) electric vehicles (or EVs). You know, those mondo expensive cars that run out of power after a couple of hundred miles requiring a lengthy recharge (kind of makes long distance trips the domain of Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) cars.

But as Biden/Congress spent trillions on green energy (massive subsidies for anything green), we noticed that 1) inflation hit 40 year highs and 2) The Fed intervened to raise rates. So, now we see that 60-month auto loan rates are now around 7.36%, up 74.4% under “Middle Class Joe.”

And we see used EV prices collapsing like a week-old soufflé.

Speaking of green energy fraud, here is the leader of the green energy fraud movement, John F’ing Kerry. Aka, Heinz Planes Grifter.

I think the Chevy Volt was the better ideas for EV’s. It’s too bad it didnt catch on like it should have.

” It’s too bad it didnt catch on like it should have.”

It did catch on... on fire.

“It did catch on... on fire.”

Instead of “Volt” they should have called it “Kindling”.

What are they doing regarding the battery? Warranted for x months? Selling as-is with some sort of remaining life expectation? Replacing with a new battery would seem to be economically impossible, but buying a used EV and then having the battery fail would no doubt result in lawsuits.

Some congressman was grilling Kerry at a congressional hearing yesterday and called him and ALL the “climate research” people grifters. I loved it.

It’s a trillion dollar grifting industry.

Kerry couldn’t answer a single question the congressman asked. He was brutal on Kerry.

Big Auto won’t go broke.

But the middle class is.

All according to plan.

“It’s too bad it didnt catch on like it should have.”

The market spoke, Jonty. What do you mean “like it should have”?

It caught on EXACTLY as it should have, no more, no less...according to market desires and tastes.

When you use words like that (”like it should have”) you sound like the central planners jamming this crap down our throats.

If the government drives up minimum wages beyond market wage levels, prices will rise and interest rates will also tend to rise.

I sure wish I had an Inventors’ mind and skills. If I did, I would concentrate on inventing a vehicle Battery that can travel 550 miles without a charge and a charger that can recharge that same battery in a half hour. Whoever accomplishes this, and it will happen someday will make Millions ($$$). I would bet anything that someone somewhere is working on these right now.

“Talk is cheap.” — yeah, and congressional gasbags are full of it. But we can’t tear this ridiculous climate edifice down all at once. It has to be chipped away at. And one brave congressman telling Kerry off and calling him a grifter is a small step in the right direction.

We’d love nothing more than all of Congress to put a stop to this utterly insane green mania, but the same bastards passed the “Inflation Reduction Act” a few months back and they are now dolling out hundreds of billions of dollars that won’t do anything except line Democrat pols pockets. Their time for action was back when that stinking bill could have been killed.

In fact, I should look up and see how the guy who grilled Kerry voted on the IRA.

The one that caught fire is the Bolt, an EV. Not a plug in hybrid.

The Volt is a plug in hybrid. It has an engine.

I am saying that, for an EV, it was a better concept than a full EV. Use a small battery for daily commuting and then switch to gas or diesel if you have to go farther. It allowed for the distant road trips that full-on EV’s don’t allow. If I had to buy an EV, my preference is a hybrid for that reason. I would not want to rely on a full EV for anything.
