Disability Claims Are Increasing at a Record Pace Under Biden. Why?

Despite the many economic challenges people are facing today, including stubbornly high inflation and 401ks that are still reeling from the worst stock market drop since 2008 , many contend that we’re witnessing the triumph of “Bidenomics.”

The White House has been touting statistics showing 13.2 million jobs have been created during the Biden administration and that the unemployment rate fell to 3.6% in June. Not bad, right?

At least some seem to think so.

“America under President Biden has better employment numbers … than the America of 1984 when President Reagan ran morning in America ads touting the economy,” said Matthew Dowd, a former political strategist for George W. Bush and MSNBC.

The thing about statistics is they can be deceiving — "Lies, damned lies, and statistics," to paraphrase the British statesman Benjamin Disraeli.

A closer look at government data reveals the labor participation rate, which has been declining for decades, is at its lowest in the last 45 years if you exclude the pandemic (more on why in a minute).

How do these data mesh with the White House’s figures, which show 13 million added jobs and an employment rate of 3.6%? The answer is surprisingly simple.

“Disability claims [are] soaring,” economist Peter St. Onge recently tweeted . “A big part of that impressive unemployment rate: if you're living on disability, you're no longer counted.”

Because they are not challenged. The democrats LOVE welfare programs so they sign up as many people as possible. It is the only entity where failure is a measure of success. So everyone can sign up, get on welfare, and live a life of relative luxury in exchange for voting for democrats.

What you are seeing is Democrat voters being approved for disability (= free lifetime welfare)

Meanwhile, a (white) friend of mine, who spent his life working in construction and whose body is no longer functional for that industry, has to jump through hoops to get disability approved.

When biden took office we were just opening the economy again. Most everything shut down for a month and slowly opening. Plus he had this unemployment bonus payments were having people making more money setting at home than working for a while. As people go back to work there is a huge uptick in people going back to work. If we never had covid and shut down and biden took over then you would see the huge fall off of America in the last 3 years.

“What you are seeing is Democrat voters being approved for disability (= free lifetime welfare)”

While claims are skyrocketing, from what I have heard they are denying everyone

Why? You really have to ask why?

It’s “free” money and you can sit home and collect!

One reason is the health problems caused by the vaccine. The other is that disability claims always increase during a bad economy. It may be the financial stress adds to the health issues already by some and it is just the “last straw”.

I think people are crazy to go on disability especially at a young age. Let’s say a person goes on it at 45. They get 1200 a month. For the rest of their lives they only get COLA so at 65 they may get 1500. At 85 they might get 1900. Hardly a life of riches. I could not live on that even for a month.

If my business had been shut down and destroyed by the government during the COVID fiasco I would have had no moral qualms about filing a permanent disability claim — for “overwhelming stress.”

according to my ss statement I would get more by being disabled than if I were to retire at 67.

They increased massively under Obama as well.

Yes, the Obama administration was using Social Security disability as an unemployment extension program when regular unemployment benefits run out, which the Biden administration is doing now.

A woman claimed she had PTSD from 9/11.

She was asked, “Did you lose someone there”?

“No”

“Were you there in NYC”?

“No”.

“Then how could you possibly have PTSD “?

“I watched it on TV”.

“CLAIM APPROVED”!

Exactly right, what I’ve been telling people. They ask where did all the able bodied workers go, they either died or are on disability bc of jab.

You are correct. But the amount varies.

Back in 2016, I got fired for saying something un-PC. The real reason was because I had a ton of accumulated vacation and family leave the company could steal.

So I filed for unemployment and they contested my claim. Looking to slow my cash burn rate until the hearing, I filed for EBT (food stamp benefits). Easy to get since they are income related and I had no income.

The people at the local office got it done lickety split but wanted to be sure I was registered to vote. With the eligibility letter in hand, it was easy to get an Obamaphone, Obamacare and probably a cornicopia of other benefits which I wasn't aware of or didn't even bother to inquire about.

Fast forward and about two months later, Trump is elected. The unemployment people rule in my favor and serious job interview requests start coming.

Five months later, I am working full-time with a temp agency for my present company that extends me a full-time job offer two months after that.

Now, the funny part, after I do the honest thing and tell the EBT people that I'm getting unemployment now, they tell me to wait until I have a job offer. When I start working for the temp agency, they tell me to wait until the job becomes full-time or permanent. When that finally happens, they want to see pay stubs. I provide them pay-stubs. A couple of weeks later, I get a letter telling me my EBT benefits are terminated. Reason: I no longer want them, not that I'm no longer eligible. I ask them if they need the unused food benefits on the EBT card returned. They tell me no, use them.

I kid you not!
