Sadly, the store owner will be sued for everything he has. The government will prosecute him for aggravated battery.

And if that happens, in time the same kind of action will be taken against judges, police, and others who attempt to enforce it. We are not there yet but when the social contract is completely broken, anarchy will result. As you say, when it becomes anonymous there will be no way to attempt to enforce whatever a kangaroo court dictates. It will not be pretty. (This makes it clear why the left is so adamant about taking guns away from citizens).

Whoever the gov’t. person is that tries to charge the store owner for battery needs a little taste of the same thing the shop lifter got. If one or both of the offenders ends up in the hospital....oh, well.
