The massacre of Ukrainian conscripts continues in the pointless US proxy war on the Ukraine Front, with over 800 casualties a day in the last five days, according to Russian claims. Even ABC had to admit that Ukraine has been taking “heavy casualties in its counteroffensive.“
On August 4, the Russian Ministry of Defense claimed that Ukraine had suffered 43,000 casualties in the first two months of the “counter-offensive”, as Gateway reported. I’ve been eligible for the draft, I have been Regular Army, I have been in the Reserves, and I have been in the National Guard, I have never heard a Reservist or Guard member being called to active duty called being drafted.
Joining the Reserves or being in the Reserves after your time as active duty removes you from the draft and sets up a new type of military obligation.
Look at Russia calling up 70-year-old Reservists, they aren’t draftees.

Really won't quibble with you about terminology, because one wanders off into the weeds rather quickly. Your quibble is with Reuters. Kyiv Post and Guardian UK use the term, "conscription."
You quibbled with another about "calling up some reservists 18 to 60 ." But "all physically-fit Ukrainian men aged 18-60 are potentially subject to conscription" is not "calling up," but conscripting. Don't like it? Quibble with the Kyiv Post.

And yes, about Russia as one reads: "July 18 (Reuters) - Russia's parliament on Tuesday extended the maximum age at which men can be mobilised to serve in the army by at least five years - in the case of the highest-ranking officers, up to the age of 70." And... "The new law means that those from this reserve with the highest ranks can now be called back into service up to the age of 70 rather than 65, other senior ranks up to 65, junior officers up to 60 - and all others up to the age of 55 rather than 45."

Sounds to me like thuggish behavior by two non-NATO nations involved in an "officially" non-NATO war. Regular, non-com Russians to 55, and conscripted Ukrainians to serve as regular troops to 60. Sounds like a lot of people are losing. Furthering this thing makes that a certainty.
What I have posted is correct, Ukraine can call up Reservists up to age 60 and Russia can call up Reservists to age 70.
I made sure that I had beat the draft and had a permanent deferment before I enlisted in the Army.
A writer confusing being drafted with being a Reservist called to active duty is a sign of our times, I think our Reservist Army Special Forces, Navy SEALs, Marines, and everyone else would mock you if you thought them being called to active service meant they were being “drafted”.
