On this date in 2009, D.C. sniper John Muhammad was executed by lethal injection in Virginia.
Muhammad — born John Allen Williams; he renamed himself after joining the Nation of Islam — authored with Lee Boyd Malvo, a juvenile collaborator under his sway, a spree of random sniper attacks around the Washington D.C. suburbs that terrified the nation’s capital in October 2002.
The two were captured together sleeping out in their sniper-mobile — a Chevy Caprice with a hole drilled in the trunk for taking concealed potshots at gas stations and mall parking lots and the like. Although arrested initially in Maryland, the U.S. Attorney General forced their case to the more aggressive death penalty jurisdiction of Virginia. (The two killed people in both states, tallying 10 dead and three wounded all told.)....

I’m on the fence with this one. It’s not like he would have a slow painful death if executed. I think it’s better to keep his paralyzed and physically compromised ass alive for a long time in solitary.

I was just thinking about this guy and his partner when they arrested that black man brandishing a weapon in Washington the other day, and now whose story has disappeared from the news. Previously arrested in 2019 on sex crimes, including child molestation, Ahmir Lavon Merrell was offered a plea deal which dropped the charges to “cruelty to children.” Part of the deal was that he would register as a sex offender until his 21st birthday, as if after he turned that age, his desire to molest children will have passed. His own mother begged them to put him in jail until he turned 25, but they ignored her, and let a sex pervert back on the street, so he could show up in Washington with a weapon and ammo, and likely kill innocent people. This world is full of nuts, and that include the people who wield the power in government to let people like him back out onto the streets. His first name Ahmir, makes me wonder if he’s a wannabe black muzzie. Wouldn’t surprise me. They are all mover the place, and get recruited in jails and prisons.
I get that view as well. I’m willing to fork over a little $ if funds his suffering. I guess I’m a baddy!

I had to travel to the DC area a few times before they were caught. Filling the rental car with gas before returning was always a concern.
in reference to the Fort Hood murders....this is a perfect example of promoting someone without merit.....frequently done in the military....because the best usually are prevented from getting to the top....instead, people are promoted for an agenda....oh he’s got a good looking wife, oh he’s good at golf, oh, he’s a minority, oh, he’s a go along yes guy who agrees with everything his bosses say....
