In a somewhat roundabout way, one could characterize these events as “New guns for old!”

Guessing they didn’t check for stolen guns nor returned them to their rightful owner.

That is exactly my thoughts about most buy-back programs.

That’s what happens when you elect a Marxist Dem for governor. Suckers!

They claimed they checked the guns turned in, and found two guns which had been reported stolen.

I have watched these events for 10 years. When the number of guns which were reported as stolen is mentioned, it is less than 1/2 of 1 percent.

Gasoline consumption while idling: 1/3 to 1/2 gallon per hour.

I wonder how many try that. Do the cops have a certain “accept” and “reject” criteria? Would a bare pipe suffice?

I knew a guy, 40 years ago, who made a really fine slam shotgun using seamless tubing produced for bicycle frames. He matched the inner and outer diameter of the tubes until the bottom was thick enough. He had to heat each outer layer to make them fit. He fabricated fixed firing pin and receiver from a block of aluminum aĺloy and mounted a stock.

No way do Americans own 1 trillion rounds of ammo. A VERY generous estimate might show 100 million gun owners, which would be an average of 10,000 rounds per owner, not remotely close to being realistic. Multiple billions yes, 1 trillion no.

I regularly scooped up plenty of .22lr, and some other calibers from 2015-2020, but sitting nowhere near 10,000 rounds.

When I was shooting competitively I shoot. 10 to 20 thousand a year.

Ten thousands is easy to have on hand.

Are we talking 10,000 rounds of each NATO caliber, or 10,000 rounds total ?

Buying habits have changed

After the last ammo squeeze most folks I know pick up a few thousand rounds any time they see a deal. Doesn’t take long to accumulate 10k rounds. Doesn’t make a big pile.

And for the past 50+ months, gun sales have been over 1 million guns a month. Not a single month below.

The Public knows something serious is wrong and are preparing.
