That’s a great point that needs to be emphasized again and again.
Their party is the “democrat” party, and that needs to be highlighted and they need to be challenged on that every time it comes up.
Because of their extremism, the DEMOCRAT party is not “democratic”.

You don’t just switch parties.
If it’s a real change, it’s a process admitting you been lied to for decades or your whole life, realizing truth, and willingness to accept that, then choose to stand firmly against it going forward.

I used to be a Democrat. Now I am a Republican. I am under no illusions that the GOP is flawless. It’s just better than Democrat. Why can’t people believe that it is possible to change parties without being a spy or something? The paranoia is galling to me. If we ever want to grow as a movement of grassroots conservatism (as I do) we have to start putting our best foot forward. And stop assuming that people can’t grow. Trump was a Democrat before he wasn’t.
