The Zelenskyy supporters here say it was 100% Putin, bent on a blitzkrieg Hitler style, to conqueror all of Europe.

Yet I’ve searched just a little and fighting has been going on since 2014, several thousand Russ living in Eastern Ukr were killed by Ukr shelling. They negotiated, Russ warned Ukr about joint NATO. A considerable population of Russ living in Eastern Ukr wanted reunification with Russ. THEN they invaded.

It’s not as clear cut as the pro Ukr here say. Too bad they didn’t settle on some sort of political re-alignment of the eastern slice of Ukr. Now Putin has it anyway and as the article said an entire gen of Ukr are ruined—if not more.

That’s probably true but it gives Xidenskyyyyyy’s turd rollers warm fuzzies when they read about it in their “media”.

“The war was for nothing - a travesty. “

Really??? So, just let any country move in and invade any time they want? Sounds like the Democrats’ policy at the border.

“lost over one million of their sons, fathers and husbands; an entire generation is gone”

So much propaganda from this war. Yet, virtually every source agrees that the Russians are losing 6-8:1 Ukrainian.

That means the Russians have lost 6 million to 8 million people in this conflict! What a death toll. Who knows, maybe the Russian people will start to notice and protest. Can you imagine Russian mothers and women noticing the death toll for Putin’s war of aggression and profit?

Or maybe...FreeRepublic will just continue to be a place that people post propaganda, like bots....

I would like there just to be peace. It’s a stupid war with stupid prizes. Russians back to Russia, somebody get rid of Zielinski, and everybody get back to families and farms.

Of course everyone knew that Russia would prevail in Ukraine (they had no choice), but the big surprise was that NATO would virtually DISARM themselves in the process. And that is likely a good thing for countries like Serbia (which NATO was getting ready to bomb again last year), Hungary, and Slovakia (the latter two being part of NATO, but having elected governments that NATO/Globalists do not accept).

I must agree with you. Like I’ve been preaching all along, everything coming from a government or MSM news outlet, regardless of what side, is all lies and propaganda.

And I agree with you on shaming the war supporters. Who want to exhaust our financial and military resources for a war that the Europeans should be paying for. In the meantime our southern border is being over run. It’s sickening that these war supporters want to spend all these resources in a war that’s none of our business while our own country goes to hell.

Worse, some have been hoaxed into believing that once Ukrainians forces are exhausted, American soldiers will come in to replace them and “win the war”.

Why would they think that? 🤔

Sad story. President Trump has said several times that there has been a much greater loss of life there, than what is being reported.

Shame on the people, regardless of their intentions, who have supported this war. And shame on the media for continuing to lie about it.

People have been saying this on FR for months.

HOGWASH. Just for starters, the legitimate reports of Ukraine casualties, both dead and wounded, are under 150,000. Nowhere near a million.

Yes, it is all a lie. The Russian actually walked into Kyiv three days after they invaded.

I trust no one to be truthful in this entire situation. You see what you want to see.

There’s a classic rock cover band that many FReepers like called Leonid and Friends. Their members are all Russians. One of their lead singers, Serge Tiagnyriadno was Ukranian. When the war broke out, he left the band and as far as I know is still in Ukraine.

I have gone to his facebook page a few times to check his status. Until a few months ago, he was pretty active. At the beginning, his wife and children went to another country. He was making music with a friend and doing some video’s and club dates. It almost seemed normal. His last post was November 2 about a performance the next day.

On one hand, it seems that there’s some normalcy, or at least the pretense. On another, he could be dead, conscripted, hiding etc. It couple be anything in between. We’re not being told the truth, neither are they. All is propoganda

This war would never have happened if the Democrats had not stolen the 2020 Presidential election.

For some reason the left, symbolized by Joe Biden, wanted this: no negotiations, just war against Russia. The Ukrainians would be the tip of the spear with NATO and the US providing equipment and funding.

Did this administration ever articulate what success would look like? Some comments on FreeRepublic favored the dismantling of Russia.

It’s bizarre, but Democrats loved the Soviet Union and hate Russia. The vast Russian communist empire, Russia plus 21 conquered countries by my count, was ok, but Russia by itself is not. I can only shake my head. The phrase “the banality of evil” seems appropriate.
