It would appear that he is in fact that dumb, and to be fair about it someone (TurtleMan, that would be) has made HIM an offer he can't refuse and HE doesn't want to be killed - like Georgia Governor Kemp's future son in law, as a possible example, who was blown to smithereens out on the freeway driving his car during the 2020 election.

That's how brave Kari is, and in DeWit's case, one could say either that he's smart enough to know a good deal or he's craven enough to go along to get along. But one can't say that he's brave, like Kari.
