The Daily Mail is reporting on a story where Arizona Republican Chairman Jeff DeWit is caught on tape offering a bribe to Kari Lake on behalf of “people back east.” {Direct Rumble Link}
The voices “back east” surrounding republican Senate races are not exactly a surprise. Yeah, it’s obviously Mitch McConnell and the multinational corporate benefactors from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce who fund the UniParty construct. Apparently, the conversation was Jeff DeWit, 51, chair of the Arizona Republican Party, asking Kari Lake, a close ally of Donald Trump, to name her price to stay out of politics for two years.

Lake reacts with indignation.
‘This is about defeating Trump and I think that’s a bad, bad thing for our country,’ she said.
Later, DeWit, who was chief operating officer on the Trump’s 2020 campaign frames it differently.
‘Just say, is there a number at which….’ he begins.
Lake cut in: ‘I can be bought? That’s what it’s about.’
‘You can take a pause for a couple of years. You can go right back to what you’re doing.’
Lake repeatedly rebuffs him and says she wouldn’t do it for a billion dollars.
‘This is not about money, it’s about our country,’ she says. (MORE)

This is just Mitch McConnell crap.
Most casual political observers have absolutely no idea how McConnell works. However, for over a decade CTH has been trying –mostly failing– to awaken the base of common sense voters. In 2010, 2011 and 2012 the #1 priority for McConnell was to destroy the threat represented by the Tea Party. In 2022 we were seeing an exact replay of the same McConnell intents and purposes, only this time the target was President Trump’s MAGA movement.
It is a motive and agenda all wrapped up in the senate power structure. McConnell does not fear being in the minority; the color of the flag atop the spire of the UniParty senate does not matter to those underneath it. McConnell maneuvers with just as much power in the minority as he does in the majority; factually, he makes more money selling his DeceptiCon caucus votes to Chuck Schumer (on behalf of Wall Street) than he does in the majority where he is forced to purchase them. The entire thing is a rigged-game.

For those who follow the deep weeds of politics, McConnnell’s schemes are brutally transparent.

DeWitt needs to be deposed, prosecuted and incarcerated. We need names. This shite has to end.
But by who? Who can be trusted to actually do something with the info?

If she recorded it without his knowledge? Then what?

She showed great integrity ...no surprise there. Just imagine how often these types of conversations happen.
As I see it, the possibilities are:
(1) McConnell arranged this; or
(2) McConnell didn’t need to arrange it because his GOPe allies and the moneyboys knew on their own what needed to be done.
Is it like the ventriloquist pretending to drink a glass of water while the dummy talks, or has the dummy been part of the act long enough that he can say his lines without the ventriloquist’s help?
Curious....he says a ‘couple of years’. If Lake were to skip the 2024 election....there’s not another another ‘window’ in 2026’s election for Arizona. The next chance would be Nov 2028. Four years of waiting.
I would be asking how this would be arranged, and the probable answer is that Fox News would hire you in some capacity.
Bolsonaro of Brazil, or some other leader down there in one of those countries, maybe Argentina or Venezuela, said, after 2020, that everyone in their country recognized exactly what had happened in the 2020 US election because South American countries have been dealing with corrupted politicians and fixed elections for generations. What happened here was immediately recognizable to them. For what it was.

It reminds me of watching the fireworks as a kid. We’d get a big one, with a nice sonic boom, it would fade out in silence and then thuuuuup... another one up followed by the next big blast.

And you can bet that this is just the teaser - there is a lot more to come out.
We have a saying in my biz - the two most worthless things in the world are legal fees already paid for and tech secrets already disclosed.
The same can be said for political secrets. This is pure hard ball political power leverage. Lots of people all across the board who need to be nervous are going to be very nervous about this and may plan accordingly. Some of it may come out , some may never be revealed. If revealed, it will at the optimum time for greatest impact. One thing for sure, Kari Lake plays her cards a lot better than DeWit.
In fact, there has been a serious shift in Republican pols towards Trump. Some of the shift may be due to his increasing popularity and his absolute and historic dominance in the primaries. It is also very possible that some of the Never Trump conspirators have been made privy to the highlights of the impending Trump counter offensive and getting a religious conversion as they contemplate their future life in the next four years of a Trump presidency. .
Interesting week so far, really. Some light flushing the roaches out of dark corners.
