Biden Tells Bizarre Incoherent Story about Being the “Poorest Man in Congress”
Daily Fetched ^ | March 21, 2024 | Jason Walsh

Joe Biden spoke to a small crowd during his speech in Las Vegas, Nevada, about his “plans” to lower housing costs when he abruptly began rambling about once being the “poorest man in Congress.”

“I had the [inaudible] things to be listed as the poorest man in Congress for 36 years,” Biden began.

“I got a phone call, my wife was campaigning. I was campaigning up in New Hampshire back when that statistic came out in the nineties,” he said.

“And she called — I used to call them because the kids were little when I was away, and say, how’s everything going?” Biden continued.

“I got this, fine. You know you’re in trouble when your wife or husband says ‘fine.’ I said, ‘what’s the matter?’ She said, ‘only elected officials’ husband and wife understand this,'” Biden continued.

“She said ‘Did you read today’s paper?’ I said, ‘they don’t have today’s paper, Wilmington paper, Delaware, up in — up in — with Lahey, I’m with Lahey from Vermont,'” Biden said.

“And she said ‘well, let me read it. Top of the fold, headline: Biden, poorest man in Congress. Is that true?’ I don’t know if it’s true, but it turned out it was true,” he added.

Letting Biden go off script is increasingly becoming a problem for his handlers.

Last week, Biden was stopped from taking questions from the media by his staff.

In the video, you can hear Biden say, “Can I take a couple of questions?”

However, one of Biden’s handlers jumped in quickly, telling the press they had to return to the bus, as Red State reported.

The news comes after several former Obama administration aides raised the alarm about Biden’s age and mental acuity, warning he is too “frail” to serve another term.

The Daily Fetched reported:

Three aides to the former president concluded Biden’s age is a valid issue as the 2024 election looms, voicing fears that Trump could take back the White House.

Chief speechwriter for former President Barack Obama, Jon Favreau, former Obama speechwriter Jon Lovett, and Tommy Vietor weighed in on Biden’s goal in an episode of their “Pod Save America” podcast.

“If you watch Joe Biden speak, oftentimes he sounds frail, and he sounds more frail than he used to, even in 2019 and 2020,” said Favreau.

His story is pretty incoherent.

But I might guess that it’s based on some level of truth. Joe Biden, in the 1990s, may have been a dumb and evil senator, but perhaps he was essentially honest. And poor. And when Dr. Jill found out that he was “the poorest” she went ballistic and ordered him to start making money — by any means necessary. And that may have been the birth of the Biden Crime Family.

I would love it if someone in Delaware could prove that no such article ever appeared in that paper.

He rambles like an old fool in rallies, but on debate night, he will become a fired up master debater and destroy Trump.

“...the “poorest man in Congress”...

He actually was one of the poorest in congress with a net worth of around $8 million. And when you consider that the worth of congress people in 2018 that would have been fairly true. Number 49 on the list in worth at that time was Lisa Rochester of Delaware with a net worth of $10.7 million.

So what he was saying was correct in a particlular point of view. He was one of the least wealthy in a job that housed people with a worth like Kevin Hern of Oklahoma who was worth $361 million. However the average worth of a US citizen is just a tad under $192 thousand. So that makes him five times wealthier than the average citizen but a whole lot less than those in his assigned work group.

Point of view, not reality. So it’s not a lie, just a misleading statement. It was what you were allowed to hear.

But it begs the question, “Where did he get $8 million dollars?”

He’s always worked for the government in one capacity or another his entire life, never worked a civilian job.

Do unspent campaign contributions count a net worth funds?

And if he spent that money on his beach house and other luxury items, then that is illegal..................

He ALWAYS bragged he was the poorest member, the lunchbox joe who humbly rode Amtrak every day and made it home in the even .In his younger days he aptly mimicked his superiors opinions because he had none of his own.

His unfortunate home grown bigotry and rascism was on display during the Clarence
Thomas SCOTUS heatings as a viperous ssnake in the grass amony many other bigoted attitudes he has always carried.

imo he has alwsys acted as if the loudness of his voice or his on display negative speechifying are somehow related to “ power”.

This sad soul has a problem telling the truth, too- past & present.

Now we hear of the evoked memory of a fraudulent, spineless old man “reminiscing”in full blown dementia.

It was his meme and still is.

For one I would love to know what pitched him over to use his govt position in acquiring wealth dishonestly; the one event.

Of course I wouldn't know the one event. But I can speculate. And it might be this very story.

As I indicated in my initial post -- if a newspaper told the world that Joe was the poorest man in Congress, and if Dr. Jill saw that and went ballistic, and Dr.Jill read him the riot act, and if Dr. Jill demanded that he find a way to start making some real money -- that might have driven him to use his govt position to acquire money dishonestly.

Joe has told this basic story many times. It seems to be burned into his brain, and has been for decades. That newspaper telling the world how poor he was seems to have been a defining moment in his life. Maybe everything changed after that.
