The AP has had a chance to get much more information.

...In a statement posted by its Aamaq news agency, the Islamic State group said it attacked a large gathering of “Christians” in Krasnogorsk on Moscow’s outskirts, killing and wounding hundreds. It was not immediately possible to verify the authenticity of the claim.

However, U.S. intelligence officials confirmed the claim by the Islamic State group’s branch based in Afghanistan that it was responsible for the Moscow attack, a U.S. official told the AP.

The official said U.S. intelligence agencies had gathered information in recent weeks that the IS branch was planning an attack in Moscow. He said U.S. officials privately shared the intelligence earlier this month with Russian officials. The official was briefed on the matter but was not authorized to publicly discuss the intelligence information and spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity.

The Afghanistan connection and the subsequent claims would lead one to believe, if confirmed, that this was the work of the ISIS-K or the Khorsan group. If it sounds familiar, that's because it is. It's the same bastards who killed our kids at Abbey Gate during Biden's disastrous Afghan withdrawal.

The group that claimed credit for the deadly terrorist attack in Moscow on Friday is the Islamic State affiliate in Afghanistan called Islamic State Khorasan Province, or ISIS-K.

ISIS-K was founded in 2015 by disaffected members of the Pakistani Taliban, who then embraced a more violent version of Islam. The group saw its ranks cut roughly in half, to about 1,500 to 2,000 fighters, by 2021 from a combination of American airstrikes and Afghan commando raids that killed many of its leaders.

The group got a dramatic second wind soon after the Taliban toppled the Afghan government that year. During the U.S. military withdrawal from the country, ISIS-K carried out a suicide bombing at the international airport in Kabul in August 2021 that killed 13 U.S. troops and as many as 170 civilians.

The attack raised ISIS-K’s international profile, positioning it as a major threat to the Taliban’s ability to govern.

Since then, the Taliban have been fighting pitched battles against ISIS-K in Afghanistan. So far, the Taliban’s security services have prevented the group from seizing territory or recruiting large numbers of former Taliban fighters bored in peacetime — among the worst-case scenarios laid out after Afghanistan’s Western-backed government collapsed.

So... the CIA is trying to foment problems between the Russia-China-Houthi group, and are willing to sacrifice innocent civilians to do it.

We should tell the evil Putin that if he does not back off from his insane efforts to take over Ukraine that we will destroy every historical building/monument in Russia. Regardless of how old it is and how important it is to Russian “culture.” Then do it.

If we lived on a planet inhabited by even a small number of sane people, all of the major powers would get together and agree to kill every muslim on the planet. I’m talking about every last one of the inbred bastards. Young, old, male, female, whatever. If they are old enough to recognize and respond to the ‘call to prayer’ for their worship of satan, kill them. use their bodies to fertilize crops, if they won’t pollute it too badly.

If I had a time machine (and space ship), I’d kill mohammed’s mom while he was in the womb.

The obligatory "rigged election" claims every Western propagandist feels obliged to mutter about Russia don't make sense. If a candidate believes he is at 45% or 49% he may be tempted to rig an election. A leader at 60% or 80% popularity needs no such assurance to win. Putin is in the latter category, as a popular leader in a necessary and popular war (witness the similar levels Bush held after 9/11).

If you want to look at what happens when a truly unpopular government takes power without popular support, look to Myanmar. The military junta there had around 20% support when the last elections took place, and claimed the elections were rigged. The universal rise of Popular Defense Forces (PDFs) in towns and cities across the nation, and the unprecedented way the PDFs have joined hands in cooperation with the long-oppressed ethnic minorities in the hill country, reflect the fact that the junta really was as unpopular as the election results indicated. Despite the desperate attempts of Western propagandists to hype every act of subversion by western-brainwashed Russians against Putin, it's plain no such base of opposition exists in Russia.

Whether it’s ISIS specifically or not, I have little doubt it’s muslims.

What is it with you conspiracy theorists and other nuts.

This used to be the premier Conservative site on the web.

But just tone it down ...at one time a Conservative believed God, Country, and will serve at any age so support the USA.

I’m getting old and blaming things on whatever drops into my mind, is probably not a way to respond or go. I can’t believe that this Fuc*ing this place has turned from a bastion of Conservative to a bastion of conspiracy theorists.

Jim wish you well..I had some AO exposure back then and they did radiation... sure you will do the best for your Conservative site..

This attack isn’t irrational at all. The calculation may be that Putin will have to pull resources back from Ukraine to do internal security or just spend more money to do it while keeping Ukraine resourced at present levels. The idea is to strain the Russian budget to the point something breaks. At some point, the Russians decided Afghanistan wasn’t worth the trouble. The aftermath may have triggered the partial dissolution of the Russian empire. They may be hoping defeat in Ukraine will trigger another devolution, with the Muslim states in Russian Federation finally getting their independence. Elements in Chuvashia, Dagestan, Chechnya and others, et al, are all hoping to get their own state.
