Parents - cherish every day of your infant children

TOPICS: Chit/Chat
KEYWORDS: babies; children
When my two kids were born I was working 80-90 hours a week. I really missed it. I never thought I would have grandkids, but by God’s grace my granddaughter poppy was born when I was 65. It has been such a blessing. Watching this Miracle unfold has changed me. Guys, cherish every moment. It’s incredible and you can never get it back. Ever.

Women have children.

Men are vaguely aware of some small people running around the house...................

My post is a warning. We get so caught up in worldly concerns we can miss the most beautiful things God has given us. That happened to me. But by his grace I got a second chance.

That’s the way it is for most of us.

That’s why God gives us grandchildren to spoil!................

Huh. I'm on the opposite end of that experience. Fortune has enabled me to be very involved with my four kids as they grow. I've been to their piano recitals, school music programs, wrestling matches, volunteered for PTO fundraisers, and I've coached their baseball and football teams.

I'm tired of the constant busy pace of parenthood and now that my oldest is leaving for college this fall, I'm looking forward to a little relief.

I guarantee you will miss it horribly. They are part of your soul.

Amen. Put the cell phones down. Get on the floor with them and look them in the. The agony on your death bed will be intolerable when you’re overcome with the countless regrets of focusing on the nonessential.

Ah yes, the good old days. Kids are 22 and 24 and out on their on. Really miss those years 2000-2020, still fun to see them but it is not the same for sure.

Such a wise statement. My biggest regret in life is I got so old before I saw what was truly important. But I won’t waste another second.

That’s the way it is for most of us.

And always has been. Men are hunting, gathering, fighting wars, sailing to far off lands or just working sunrise to sunset to provide for the family. Women are raising the children. My daughter was 6 month old when I first held her. Then our time together was broken up by deployment cycles, training and other travel.

They say that grandchildren are God’s reward for not killing your own kids. :-)
